It was near impossible to find one of these in CA... But well worth the effort. ? 0605191629 by drjlo2, on Flickr
  3. Not sure if anyone would have any interest, outside of maybe Steve and his apprentice, but the new neighbors brought over a blueberry pie and full photo documentation of the build of the house. What was sold as and listed for taxes as a 1972 home with renovations, would appear to be a near complete tear down and new build. Note the sweet green fridge in many of the pictures and the worker riding the chimney like a bull before it collapsed through the floor into the basement. They tell us the chimney was going to be the only thing kept, until that. House Build
  4. I finally cracked the ancient Durbar that I’ve been slowly hydrating for the last half decade. It was sawdust when I got it. It’s perfect, now. Should go great in this Sav autograph (I should probably smoke it in my Parker, but whatever).

I love the detail on this late 60s buckle. Look at the stippling!
  6. Things have changed since we last discussed The Cursed Child. I saw it in New York last week... and, let's just say I almost immediately ordered tickets to see it again in San Francisco this fall. PS: I think the two-a-day format with a matinee show, dinner break, and evening show makes for a fabulous day.

    They are really wonderful watches.

I've been wearing my Speedy a good bit since the alligator strap upgrade. Really pleased with that upgrade. HS
  9. Let's just say I have a personal museum...
  10. A fellow of my cycling team lent me a couple of CDs of Katatonia and similar groups. He usually listens to them while he trains at home. I still have to listen to them but this weekend I'll be up to date.

I think tomorrow (well, today, as it's 1:30 AM) is going to be a Speedy Thursday, but I'm unsure of which one. Empty spot there on the left because I'm wearing the Reverso. Those watches get wound at the same time, a few times a week (it's such a pleasure to wind a manual watch, and I'm lucky to own three). They are both well within COSC.
  12. And they can drive. Very cool, Hop! Thanks for sharing. I received an invite from a friend today to join him on the road course this coming Saturday. If weather holds, he'll have a Cayman GT4 he'll drive there and back home. Offered it up to me for a test drive (off track...which is the only way I would take advantage of such a generous offer). I might get lucky... If so I'll post some pics. vroom vroom... HS
  13. You need to start sunbathing naked on the deck. "Take a picture of this, Bob."

He only needs 7.5% of his brain to deal with most people, so the edibles just eat up a little headroom. Work's fine!
  15. You're a beast Nate... not sure I could avg. 15mph for that right now. I'm not worthy!
  16. For reasons somewhat detailed in other threads I have been training pretty aggressively this season. A couple of times so far I've decided to push, hard. This morning was one of those times.
  17. Yeah, the reason Porsche doesn't put bigger engines in the Cayman is it would eat the 911 for breakfast.

I was surprised how much I liked the newer bezel. Darker / deeper colors made it more approachable for my taste. Different strokes... HS
  19. Oh no! This is going to be a tough one for many of us... Dr. John gone at 77. Heart attack. Truly an original. He was a legend. https://www.theadvocate.com/new_orleans/news/article_a962e500-8877-11e9-991d-2f4782c02ae0.html That's going to be one hell of a funeral procession... they do huge send offs in New Orleans for even half famous musicians. This one will be epic, as it should be.
