  4. Fancy. One wall is done in the garage. I now have 23 outlets on that one wall, where I had 2 to begin with.

  6. If anyone is a fan of Jon Ronson (Them: Adventures with Extremists, The Men Who Stare at Goats, The Psychopath Test: A Journey Through the Madness Industry), he's got a pretty interesting, compassionate, easy-to-digest BBC4 podcast, called Things Fell Apart, about specific origins in the Culture Wars. I'm sure everyone will have a different favorite, but the collision of second wave feminism with third wave might be mine. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/things-fell-apart/id1592984136?i=1000540367923 https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0011cpr/episodes/player A sample segment of one episode...

  7. Yup, my commute home was pretty much dead into it. Strava was fun to look at. Fun to pull nearly 270W average for an hour plus to go 17mph.

  9. Just got Traktor to run without locking up for the first time on the M1 Mac. Had to edit a text file and disabled multicore processing (and a fuckin' BeatPort nag screen) to get it to load.

  11. I had X9k over the week at home - my wife and kids decided it is not better than 009 and 007 mk1. The lack of impact and energy in bass region was the problem for them, not imaging. Personaly I liked them, but didn't feel like this is my cup of tea. In my opinion they are very different to 009, are little closer to my Omega with 007Mk1 drivers. Would be nice to have them in collection and try them with different amplifiers, but after all I abandoned that idea.

  13. The Weber Looking Glass is exactly what you would expect: perfect and worth the money, but a luxury. I mean, espresso at home is. But this mirror is perfect for the purpose. The Flair mirror is merely adequate, and repurposed makeup mirrors I’ve tried don’t really work well.

  14. Nice Bryan! My son feels exactly the same way, for all the same reasons (sound quality + social + delay in HiFi). He will likely not go back. I upped my Tidal subscription to a family account so he and his GF can use it.....and I just bought a used Bluesound Node 2i for him to use with Tidal Connect (his existing Elac device that I gave him only does it through Airplay, and not very well).

  16. Well, my shit is fucked. I'm OUT of heating oil, below 1/4 tank. Oil co said "lol, we can deliver on Monday." We're getting, uh, a foot of snow and ballfreeze cold between now and then. I've got my two electric space heaters plugged in. My sainted, octogenarian mother sent me a super helpful text encouraging me to turn up the head in case the power goes out. It's going to be an interesting weekend. Personally, I'm blaming Putin.

  17. RIP Exogal the company.....really too bad....the Comet was one of my all-time favorite DAC's, and the mindset behind this company was pretty great (some ex-Wadia folks included).
