  2. I wouldn't actually wish this life on anyone, but I guess some people like it.
  3. I suddenly find myself inundated in projects, all with different final deadlines, and all with multiple progress points. For instance, I have a project I want to complete by May 1, but in order to do that I'll need to complete part A of it by March 30th, and part B by April 14th, and send out part C by March 21st, etc. There is obviously lots of project software out there, but most seems geared toward groups, or has too many features. I am looking for simple - no need for discussion boards, bug tracking, user management, etc. Does anyone know or use something that works well?
  4. It is a Ravenswood (DSHA4) power amp for headphones. We did it this way as Adam already has a preamp, so there is not much sense in doubling up on them. Here's another one in a powder coat case.
  5. More similar than not. The primary changes are in the power supplies with a few in the digital circuit.
  6. $2200 + market rate for wood more exotic that what I can get at the local wood store. Things are available basically whenever - I decided that there was no way to compete with the Schiits of the world and I never really made enough of anything to benefit from economies of scale, so everything is bespoke. Depending upon complexity and how busy things are, that usually means 6 to 8 weeks.
  7. You are all too nice It is about 9.5" x 6.25" x 2.25". Input is USB (using the Amanero USB card) and output is transformer coupled and XLR only (because of the transformers, using XLR to RCA converters does not change or diminish the signal). It uses the Wolfson WM8741 with my output stage which is basically the same circuit as the DSHA. The model is the Walnut v5 DAC.
  8. It sounds pretty good, too I can add an analog shunting volume control.
  9. This won't mean much to anyone here, but Elizabet Garrett died at age 52. She was my law school professor for Civ Pro and Legislation, and when the law school had a dean scandal, she was the obvious choice to be the replacement. Instead she was snubbed and went to USC. She recently became the president of Cornell. http://cornellsun.com/2016/03/07/cornells-president-elizabeth-garrett-dies-at-age-52-less-than-one-year-after-assuming-office/
  10. That's the best explanation I can come up with.
  11. I received an email recently from a "vendor" whose products I had purchased from Mouser. They were aware of the item and the quantity. While the from and return to email addresses all appear sort of legit (it is a 3rd party company that manufacturers subcontract to for tech support), it came to an email of mine that while publicly available and tied to my name, has never been used at Mouser. My guess is Mouser sold a bunch of data.
  12. Tippi Hedren. I have been to the big cat rescue she runs outside LA. She made brownies
