  1. Cool, Doug. Should be great experience.
  2. Hey, Scott, Happy Birthday, and have a great day.
  3. Miguel ... I've pencilled this in. If I'm still in FL, I will be there. Trying to finalize travel plans for extended northern vacation.
  4. @ tireiron Yo! You goin' to Gainseville, you gotta stop in Sarasota. Why? As if you din't know ... beaches, bars, and home cooki'n. That is, if you can cook? Heard lots of trash about that, so it's a brand new over here. We don' count no east coast lyin'. so it's brand new over here. Even have a new local with great stuff. Call me, make it happen. I'll have my daughter & family come down from Bradenton ... we'll bond ... it'll be nice.
  5. @ Al ... wtf! We obviously need shotguns for the next Mayberry gathering. And, what are you doing up there on a fine Friday morning? @ Shelly ... I hear you on the "nice to have my life back, but also worth the time/effort to work with those young women". Shelly post shield going up. @ Steve ... see, I'm right, you WOUL'D be a great dad.
  6. Justin, wtf, did you move to Kansas? Glad you and your stuff are ok. Must have been something to experience. I saw the weather reports, and muttered to myself, hmmm, Justin is right in the middle of all that crap ... hope he gets my Slim done before it hits.
  7. Fun and safe journey, Tyll. Happy trails.
  8. Cool, Mike ... I almost went for them, but having no experience, passed. Please give impressions and results after you've tried. Woo Hoo! Looks like a screamer, Nate. I remember Grahame had a hacintosh at VanJam 09, and it was really cool.
  9. Ryan ... I've had nothing but good experience with all of these: B&H, Adorama, J&R, and Amazon. I believe Nikon is offering $50 back on D3000 kit right now.
  10. Way to go, Todd. Looking forward to your further impressions, and certainly glad that firsts are good. Nice to hear that build is good, and that manual continues the lighthearted vibe. My Valhalla scheduled for Aug 15.
  11. Another hearty, "Well done, Doug" from here. I am glad you are following your heart and passion, and if you are true to them, all will work out. Let us know how the journey is going, and if we can help in any way. Looking forward to BrewDoug nectars to come ...
  12. Al ... nice day at the presid. Love the hawk flight trail ... do they drop acid before taking off? Thanks for the nice pics and narration. Sophie & Alden look great.
  13. No ... didn't make the cut. I was actually pretty conservatively dressed and well behaved. Was voire dire'd for a drug case, which was interesting, but not chosen. An interesting day, all around, and glad to have the experience.
  14. Dan, I don't care what jp, Vicki, Mike, Al, and anyone else says about you ... u r d man! I am driving north later in the summer, and will coordinate pickup. If jp dares, he can join in the rendezvous. What am I saying? Of course he dares. Fun times coming ...
  15. Jury duty. So far, lots of waiting around, but I would love to get on a jury. Sarasota County Courthouse is a nice old building, and it's right downtown in the middle of cafes, bars, and restaurants, so makes for a nice gig. Hmmmmm, maybe if I took the earphones out, and stopped playing games on the iPad, they'd take me seriously, and let me serve?
  16. Jacob ... I believe the word you seek is sloth. Pretty sure that would be how states and religion refer to slackerdom. Steve, forgive the further hijacking of the thread, but I just can't pass up an opportunity to use sloth in a sentence.
  17. Peter ... I gotta get out to your neck o' the woods sometime for one of those hikes. Great photos, and a nice end to the day with the Dead Guy and food.

    Excellent images, Steve, thanks!
  19. Thanks for starting the thread, Bryan, and Happy Father's Day to all the other Dads (and Grandads) out in HC land.
  20. Picked up a bottle of SN Fritz and Ken's myself, Shelly ... Great minds, and all that. I haven't had the 30 bock, either, but some who have say the F 'n K is better.
  21. Thanks, and welcome, Jason. I like your straight talk, and no bs approach.
  22. ditto to what Mike said, Al. How far are you from the mini when the bt craps out? I iirrc, bt is just for pretty close range (claim is for 10 meters - 30 ft, but you know how those engineers lie).
