I have that Shun K.O. kit, and have no issues with the serrateds. Great for what they are designed for ... slicing. Nothing better for tomatoes, bread, roast beef, ham, turkey, etc. It is a great deal for the set. I do, however have a problem with the steel ... thrown in for American sensibilities, as I think "real' japanese knife users would never touch their blades with one.

A few pics. Pretty much confined to Thursday and Friday arrivals, the memorable FFF excursion (thanks again, Mike - you were a class act to get that done), and couple from Saturday opening of CJ. After that it was party on, so camera didn't come out much. The clan gathers ... Saddle up for the FFF trip ... Are we there yet?

Yes, Peter ... I noticed substantial NR improvements when I went to LR3 from 2. I assume LR3 is close to CS5. Never used NN or any other externals or pliugins, but am pretty pleased with LR3.

Like Jacob, I cannot speak to the ECD-1 specifically, but I did that exact thing all the time from an Accuphase player with RCA & XLR outs. Even split the RCA to feed two SE amps. I would also echo Ari's suggestion to just try it (you'll probably like it) .... But then that's so true of many things.
