Wow, a string of tough news. Sorry to Wayne, condolences to Hank's friends and family. And best wishes to Larry and Alex's brother as well

That sucks, Brent, but hopefully it means things are getting back to normal.....feel better!

My Silverline Preludes go to mid-to-low 30's with 2 x 3.5" drivers. Not hair-blowing air movement, but they are tuneful and deep enough to not scream for subwoofer usage. I would think, if not a single 3" dricver, than maybe a small array of 3" drivers, would be kind of cool.... I think Audio Pro used to have a couple subs in years pasdt with several smaller drivers (6" I'm thinking) to get depth and speed.....

We went pretty overboard for our son's first, I think it's kind of natural if it is the first child too.....it WAS worth it, though, to see his face when we fed him cake for the every first time. We have a couple shots somewhere, he has this wide-eyed look like "...what is this that you've been holding out on me....??!!!" We learned pretty quickly in subsequent years to tone down the major portions of parties, and just let the kids enjoy.....

Happy Birthday! Celebrate like it's the weekend

Good stuff! I always liked the bang for the buck of their early Link DAC....briefly heard a Platinum DAC at a dealer's, it was a consignment sale beyond my price even used. But it sounded REALLY nice, even in an unfamiliar system..... Now I just to figure out a good pun about resisting the resistors....

RIP good man......

Good stuff, Tom, congrats! We refinanced, went from a 30-year to 15 and still saved > $300/mo in payments. We've timed it just so we'll be paid off before our son goes to college....just in time for more possible debt!

We used a portable Delonghi in our half finished basement for several years, pretty much continuously during the summers. A nice workhorse. But if you don't want to be emptying the water container every other day, it's best to find a way to pipe it outside or at least to some kind of drainage. We ended up spending the $ and putting a permanent unit in the unfinished portion of the basement, with A/C style piping to the finished side. The good news is that's it's quieter when you're in the room, the bad news is that the dry air being pumped in is warm, which makes it warmer in the summer.....

One country-oriented female vocalist I've always recommended, and about whom received generally good feedback, is Tift Merritt. There's one song I love by her that takes country and dabbles it in classic 60's soul.....Good Hearted Man She also has some nice versions of another song I like, Stray Paper, on youtube. I just recently picked up the Alison Brown CD "Stolen Moments." Similar at times to Alison Kraus, but also delves into some jazzier sounds, and is a great listen.

Happy Birthday Jim! Drink well

Have to say, I wasn't the biggest fan of their last several albums. I respected the hell out of them, but the first two will always be my faves. Maybe because of the time they were done, and my age and place in life..... Still, an great indelible mark on music history!

Happy Birthday! Hope it is/was/will be a great day and night!

They played LWTUA, all of the Closer album, several older songs from singles or Still, a couple from Unknown Pleasures, and finished their third encore (!) with Atmosphere and Ceremony. Almost 2 hours long, just amazing!

Went to see Peter Hook & The Light last night, at a nice smaller club in Boston. They did the entire Joy Division "Closer" album, plus a heck of a lot more! Almost 2 hours, with 3 encores of some great music. Joy Division held the title of my favorite group for many a year in the 80's and 90's, and this was an incredible stroll down memory lane. Some pics attached. First is sign in bathroom that had to be taken, second and third Peter, fourth is Peter's son (who played damn well). EDIT: just found out his son was playing another Bass; this guitarist was not family
