  1. It is truly sad that people feel they need to do these types of actions, especially in such a peaceful place. My heart goes out to family and friends of those lost....it seems so very senseless.....
  2. Truly is wonderful, Shelly.....those types of stories are indeed inspirational. And sorry to hear of the nose, Haj; hope you get/heal well soon!
  3. Happy Belated!
  4. Got back from a wonderful trip to Bar Harbor Maine, beautiful area! Amongst other neat stuff, picked up 2 4-pack samplers of these: close ups
  5. Just saw this, wasn't really on during a mini-vacation. So sorry for your loss, Al, and your first post was just amazing. My thoughts are with you and the entire family, sounds quite special!
  6. Wow indeed.....I really like the little bit of wood trim, it sticks out in a nice way.....
  7. I have the Cambridge unit, and used to have the Wadia (170, not 171). The remote on the older Wadia was limited in what it could control, I didn't like the (lack of) functionality. The Cambridge isn't a world-beater for functions, but it's better than the original Wadia. The Cambridge is smaller, has more digital out options, will (perhaps awkwardly) fit the iPad, and has the better remote. I can't say if one is better sound-wise than the other, as I never had them side by side. But I like what the Cambridge did, and I liked what the Wadia did, sound-wise. Great recordings sound great, good ones sound good. The Cambridge is sold street price for $300 new, and you may be able to find it cheaper. Personally, I think it's worth the ~$50 more than a used Wadia.
  8. Nice snake! Me (and son): went to a nearby town and got our pic with the Stanley Cup. I got kinda jingly when I got near it
  9. Jim, I'm up for a bottle too if still available! Ever since Duggeh said it was better then Hendricks I've been dying to try it Thank you, and please let me know what I need to do for payment and processing.....
  10. Haj, where specifically are you looking? Yes, it's expensive, but I can ask a couple folks from my old workplace (Kronos) for recommendations if they have. May not be anything better than what you've seen, but who knows..... And by your description of the food/entertainment place, sounds like Kimball's
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Happy Birthday!
  13. Wow, nice pics Stretch and Al. We finished our second Bone Marrow Drive today, collected another 57 registrations in ~4 hours. Son Andrew and his friend Jake are just amazing kids, so very proud of both of them. The entire experience is one we'll relish, and we'll surely volunteer at other drives.
  14. I'm looking forward to trying this, could be fun for not big $. I've wondered about the AKM DAC's, but something like the Exciter was too much money for me to potentially waste trying. At least this will have discreet output, even if it is built to a price point. I had a couple of older motherboards that had SPDIF coax out, but never tried them on a DAC. When I did start getting into some computer audio, I do know that I liked the coax out from my $30 Diamond PCI sound card better than any USB I had heard to date, even on 16/44 material. The limited amount of HiRez I have was even better.....
  15. There was a ton of overpayment on free agents this year, some scary bad deals. But the Vokoun deal should be great for Washington, he has some darn good talent.
  16. A little late to the game, but happy belated birthday!
  17. Several books, all either books on the Bruins & Stanley Cup Playoffs, or novels & short stories by F Paul Wilson that I didn't already have. Also yesterday, bought some Dow's White Wine Port to try.
  18. A Very Happy Birthday!
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. Happy Birthday, So Cheater
  21. Sandeman Founders Reserve Port. Decent price, should be a decent drink.....

    RIP Peter Falk

RIP indeed....I was just barely old enough to like Columbo....and enjoyed the above-mentioned films.....
  23. Throbbing Gristle - A Taste Of TG Weird.....
  24. Happy Birthday!
  25. RIP.... Big Man is an apt description, he played big and WAS big. Saw him in a restaurant in Del Ray Beach FL a couple years ago; I remembered an amazing presence, and BIG hands! A great personality and talent lost....
