I've tried some of the older RS series of wireless, was not too impressed, with sound quality or capability to send signal without excess hiss and noise. A decent sounding and good SIGNAL wireless phone would be pretty cool. But I think the new products will be.....the i series. Led by the HD-800i. New cable design to go with that new logo!

There was a dealer in Simsbury, CT who carried MBL. Ted Lindblad was HIS name, forgot the dealership name. Great guy....carried some beaucoup dolores gear, like this MBL, Karma, 47 Labs (heard the PiTracer), Lamm..... I had met my in-laws there one time, we stayed at a nice inn nearby. I stopped in Ted's to audition some 47 Lab's gear and he was playing an MBL system with these 101's. I was VERY pleasantly surprised at their coherency, very "together" top to bottom, with tight bass extension and great detail. No harshness at all. Pretty much immersed me in the music. And as one might guess from their design, they imaged like the Dickens. Some of the musician placement was downright spooky.

No hangover.....kept it with one drink last night, good ol' Woodpecker Cider. Not going overboard, and pigging out on food also helped.... Happ New Year!

I'll second you, and raise you "decent bass, highs ARE extended some but sound COMPLETELY artificial." I like my 280's (recabled) better, they aren't horrible after lots of playing time on them. Senn 380 was perhaps the biggest headphone mistake I've made, luckily bought them used and it wasn't HUGE. BTW.....anyone want to buy a pair of Senn 380's in great condition? :p Anyone? Bueller? Dang...... to myself

If you eat brains, does that make you smarter? I tried some canned brains several years back, just a forkfull; don't even remember what they tasted like, though I remember I didn't dislike them.... There's a store near Concord, NH (for you locals dying to try this stuff) called The Healthy Buffalo. They sell various alterna-meats, like the named Buffalo/Bison, but also all kinds of others. Deer/Elk, Wild Boar, Alligator, Ostrich, and my new favorite, Kangaroo; probably a few more I don't recall. I've tried eel and fish eyes (in Hong Kong for eel and Japan for fish with eyes). One of my favorites was a little narrow place in Hong Kong that specialized in Congee, a kind of rice porridge. I tried some of my co-workers Congee with Pig's Blood and Thousand Year Egg. Quite tasty, actually. I probably ate bugs as a kid, but that doesn't count on the gourmet scale I suppose.

Little Dot MkVI balanced tube amp?
skullguise replied to Hopstretch's topic in Headphone Amplification
[Hey Nate, how was your trip?] Hey, it's a "special" amp, designed for xxxx phone (some Senn's, some Beyers, etc.). Probably doesn't cost so much to design/build, even if for a niche segment. And they can charge more for it as a specialty design. Actually, I've had pretty good luck using a cable to up the impedence. I drove some AKG 271's very nicely out of the Lunchbox amp, with a 200ohm cable adapter. Not the best of all solutions, but works well. Still fondly remember that combo. All that said, I'm not getting this amp..... -
Wow, sad to hear indeed.... Reports are conforming that he died, and they are theorizing suicide. Merry F-in Christmas Rest In Peace.

Thanks all! Hopstretch, I DID shovel the walk....and the driveway. But it felt good to breath some cool clean air, and get this fat ass excercising a bit. Otherwise, a good "veg day" spent part of the time with my wife and son, watching the Bruins beat up Toronto and Phil Kessel go -3 on the game (DVR'd), and watching the Patriots choke like the Red Sox of yore...oh, well, can't be perfect.... "Bayou Catfish" for dinner tonight at a local fish restaurant.....yum. Love my family, happy they are in my life. Gettin' old don't suck when life is like this!

My library uses Madgascar Ebony. Bully on you, I say But yeah, I'd be surpirsed if they built them, too. And I think the pads are indeed very odd.

This is perhaps my favorite album of theirs....great stuff..... For me: Chameleons UK - Tripping Dogs and same band, What Does Anything Mean Basically

Hope that works out well; it looks kinda nice for the size. I ended up biting on the Chestnut Hill George, due Veteran's Day. Not going to have too much listening time initially - lots of day and night plans, then family stuff even on the weekend - but hope to get a good taste of it quickly enough.
