  1. There are already devices like that, and at much higher storage levels. They do cost a fortune though. http://violin-memory.com/index.php They don't list prices for a reason... if you have to ask....
  2. They are hardly the first. The fusion-io stuff has been available for a while. Given it's more expensive it also doesn't need to use RAID 0 to hit it's performance numbers. http://www.dvnation.com/Fusion-IO-IODrive-SSD-Solid-State-Disk-Drive.html http://www.fusionio.com/Products.aspx
  3. Happy B-Day!!

This was touched on briefly, the final five agreed to help the cylons create the skinjobs if they stopped the war with the humans. So it's fairly safe to assume that the 8 models were made shortly after the first cylon war.

There's actually a very simple answer to this, in the case of the m192 MKII. In between the MKI and MKII Northstar released a new CDP the Sapphire. The MKII uses the exact same dac and output section as the Sapphire. Seems pretty likely to me that it was mostly a cost savings move.
  6. Not sure about the OS X version but it works the same way as it does on firefox for the Windows version.

another fantastic ep tonight, and i admit i didn't see the whole
  8. Good luck, there isn't going to be much in that price range that supports blu-ray. Your really asking quite a lot for that price range, 5.1 speakers + blu-ray + something to drive them. Hard to squeeze that under $1k and have it not sound horrible.

Yep it's a pretty nice server, quad core 2.8ghz cpu, 8 gigs of ram and two 500gig hd's in raid 1. Plenty of room for expanding the disk array which is usually the first bottleneck people run into with db-driven apps/sites.

I imagine a B22 would easily drive Omegas I think the most inefficient speaker in the Omega lineup is 93db.

Some fun BSG news, Universal will be releasing the entire series on Blu-Ray as a "complete series" set on July 28th.

Anyone else been watching Leverage? It's a really enjoyable fun show, I'm glad it's been picked up for a 2nd season. Tomorrows season finale should be amazing.

Yeah I think what bugged me about the premiere was the total lack of backstory/history.

He's also been in a few episodes of Leverage.

The 2nd ep of Dollhouse was significantly better than the premier which I didn't really like at all.
  16. Open it up and take some close-up pics. That's about the only way we'll be able to know for sure what's driving the balanced outs.

Doing just fine, the new server actually arrived and was installed on Friday. Still doing some of the initial configuration and then I'll schedule (and of course announce) a date/time when I'll move the site over. Should be very minimal downtime when it does happen.
  18. If Grado is smart the PS1000 will be as close to the PS-1's as possible.

    Indeed it does

Really three potential ISP's that offer Wimax in your area? That honestly surprises me as it's still pretty new tech and not that widespread yet. I wouldn't bother with Satellite, it'd probably be more reliable than your dsl but not any faster, probably slower in fact. I'd just go ahead and get cable it's likely your best bet.

  22. Assuming it installed the plugin for firefox/opera then yes it should.
  23. GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!
  24. Nope they aren't at all, and if you run into any apps that happen to require the "certified" driver crap you can actually download the pro drivers and hack them very easily to run on the consumer cards. I'm with nate go with a quad core cpu and load it up ram.
