  1. Nate, sorry, I forget do you currently have the D7000?
  2. Yeah, the low light is making me think...
  3. Thanks guys. Now I need to bother you again. I think I'm having some buyer's remorse. I like the D300 a lot, but I believe the controls on the D7000 are going to be more intuitive for me coming from the D50. Also, the D7000's size does have certain advantages, of course, even though I don't love the ergonomics. From what I've read the ergonomics can be improved by adding a battery grip to the D7000. I like the tank-like build quality of the D300, but now I'm wondering if the transition to the D7000 would be easier for me. So, bottom line is that I'm considering exchanging the D300 for the D7000. And I'm annoyed at myself. Any advice/guidance would be much appreciated.
  4. Ok, more help needed gang. Could use some recommendations for a camera strap for the D300. Something more comfortable/substantial than the stock version.
  5. If it's an end rig then why are you looking for another headphone rig?
  6. Happy Birthday, Chris!
  7. Nate, Thanks. Your observations are consistent with what I've read. I ended up getting the D300. It's an earlier model than the D7000 and I guess doesn't have some of the features of the D7000, but it's a beast. And so much faster than my D50. I traded in my D50 kit and the Lumix and ended up getting the D300 in excellent condition for $450. The D7000 was going to be around $350 more than that, which made a difference. Interestingly, the D7000 is significantly more compact than the D300, but the D300 felt more comfortable in my hands. Shows the benefit of actually handling these things. Regardless, both cameras are a big step up from the D50 and I'm really excited to start shooting.
  8. Haj, what about the 7000 do you prefer?
  9. I'm thinking of picking up a used D300 body to replace my D50. What say you all?
  10. ^The main thing the x10 has going for it is comfort. Are any of them newfangled IEMs you mention as comfortable?
  11. How much is that PortaStax
  12. I am enjoying this new newsletter and look forward to further issues.
  13. Philips Fidelio L1 could be worth checking out. B&W P5 comes to mind, too. For a super portable IEM, check out the Klipsch Image x10. I love that headphone. And JH16.
  14. Thanks, Jim, I agree. The bamboo just doesn't do it for me. I like the cherry wood. Antonio, I generally agree with your observation, but the Luxman combo has that fun, fat sound that can be satisfying, too. I'll be sure to post more as I get used to them.
  15. and definitely stay away from that audio-gd crap.
  16. B22 and Luxman.
  17. These are pretty good headphones, gang. The bass is very satisfying compared to the HD800.
