This is a shitty way to end the summer. We're trying to figure out if we should leave eastern LI to head back to our apartment where we could be told to evacuate.
Situations like this always highlight for me the limited capacity of the majority of people in this world, but more specifically my mother, to distinguish fact from rumor or speculation.
One of those nights.
Made a Remember the Maine that I'd rather forget. Tried again. So-so. This is a drink that requires moderation with the ingredients--except the rye of course. Just made a nice big Manhattan. I should just stick to these. Got some Carpano Antica today. Looking forward to trying it, but if one more bottle of vermouth goes in the fridge there will be much fighting with the Missus.
Updated the firmware on my little POS HP printer. Now Airplay compatible. Printing from iPad is a breeze. Also, fixed water pressure at my parents place, which is a small miracle given my (lack of) skillz at such things.
