  1. I want to meet whoever owns that desk and shake his hand. That is an awesome workspace.

The FTP shares on finalgear.com are the best.

I'd advise against calling an Ariel a go kart should Wayne come 'round.
  4. Earlier this week it was -6° F one day and then 45° F the next. We have incredibly spastic weather.
  5. If they really do pull an Ultrasone and make the HD800 $1800, I can see a lot of business seriously being lost to Audeze and Hifiman. I was just as annoyed when Beyer raised the price of the T1, and I would have been happy to buy the T1 at $999 or the HD800 at $1399. Now I just want JH13s or planars.
  6. That would be an excellent summary of the RA-1.

Aww, I was actually genuinely concerned. That was a nasty knock.
  8. Looks good, I'm not the world's biggest fan of IPB, but it's still approximately several thousand times better than Huddler.
  9. Except generally the Grados left lying around aren't the 325 or MS2. They're certainly not the most popular of Grados. The Magnums look awesome though.

I'm pretty certain that it's their cherry wood trim. If you read the whole article it says that it is available in aluminum trim as well as oak and cherry.

This would scream Head-Case, but for the Bud Light.
  12. I'm not too sure on the general consensus here, but I think that's partially because of the fact that nearly everyone here already has much more expensive gear. That said, I know Ethan/Yikes uses (or at least used) his HE5LEs out of an Asgard regularly and enjoyed them, as he brought it and his much more expensive exemplar modded Shanling to the NY meet.
  13. I almost think this picture made more sense with the old thread title.
  14. Oh no. Time for another Engadget product troll fest in comments. They should really stop reporting on high end audio gear.
  15. This thread needs more advice dog.
  16. Picked up a new CD player, then went to an antiques store and got a whole bunch of vinyl for $3 a pop. A good day for an audiophile.
  17. Just what we need, another Sabre chip device for HF to explode over.

    That was moderately disturbing.
  19. Yep, looks similar. Neat, but my small ears wouldn't like it much.
  20. Are you talking about the foam Comply's? Sounds kind of like the universal demo models they have. Unfortunately those demos weren't ideal for me since I have small ears so it was difficult to get a seal.
  21. What's wrong with Pentax? The K-x is more than a worthy adversary to the D5000 and T1i, plus has in body stabilization. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/pentaxkx/page29.asp It's fairly sharp, but not terribly sharp. If I had thought more about it I would have adjusted the shutter speed accordingly, but I was being stupid and had it on 1/400 when the camera supports 1/6000. Having a $700 lens that is sharpest around f/11-f/13 helps as well. Everyone here loves headphone pictures, right? I've got them too. f/2.8 | 1/15s | ISO 1600 Taken with Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5
