The fact that you can tailor your Mac experience to your liking is really its strongest suit. For example whether you're more keyboard or mouse focused. Whether you want one app that consolidates a lot functions or have different apps for different purposes. Whether you want minimalist apps or apps with tons of features. What kind of workflow you follow, etc. My personal favourites are Quicksilver (a launcher and multi-purpose tool) and OmniFocus (a todo programme).

BenQ is also pretty good for low-priced screens, like Dell.

I'm pretty sure you don't need a business bachelor for an MBA. The requirement is usually some degree plus relevant work experience, which you both have in abundance. Curious that you say that finance majors end up in sales and customer service. Sounds harsh but maybe it depends on the school they went to, how smart they were to begin with, and, of course, how ambitious they were. 2 guys I knew from physics ended up pursuing their masters in finance and both now work for an investment bank, one doing crazy modelling stuff, and the other in M&A. And despite the mess in financial markets, with the whole craze about compliance, the S&O act, and increased importance of financial reporting, there's always demand for finance people. Then again, there are other fields in business that might be interesting, too, which you maybe haven't thought about. Marketing for example. Nevertheless, according to a recent study by CFO magazine, finance has overtaken marketing to be the most likely route to CEO. Not that it would matter for any of us.

Just watched my weekly cooking show. Great as always.

The advice about an MBA sounds like very good advice and it looks like you could afford it, too. Not sure if you care or not, but it would probably look better on a CV than starting over, too. Although I'm against the CV-craze, it is something to consider. Perhaps you can just pursue another master's degree without doing the whole bachelor's thing again? I also agree that accounting isn't particularly intellectually challenging. As part of my masters in economics and finance, I'm taking a few accounting classes (together with accounting majors) because I thought it might be useful, which it is, but I think it's not something you have to dedicate an entire study for. If you're looking for an intellectual challenge, I doubt accounting can provide that as it feels more like memory training at times. Finance is a lot more more interesting, a lot more relevant (but who am I telling that), and it involves more numbers. Actually, I don't like finance much for personal reasons, but it's a very challenging field with nearly limitless potential if you're good at it. Perhaps something to consider, especially with your background. Can't comment on computer science except that the IT guys I work with on a website study EE, EE and biology.

I still like OmniFocus (offline) the most even though I'm not strictly following the GTD approach. The only thing I miss is prioritisation. All you can do is flag an item or rearrange the order, but visual presentation of priority would be nice. Probably a feature for version 2.0.

Had a 717 for a while without any problems. The previous owner, xenithon on HF, had it for about 2 years without any problems either. It was the 230V black model.

I also have two MyBooks that have been working great for more than a year. The Raid system looks enticing but I think I'll still save up for a 1 TB time capsule.

Firefox 3 for Mac is really nice looking, quite a few cosmetic changes for the better. I'll give it a try over the next few days but I think I might still prefer Camino, mainly because of keychain integration and a few other things. Firefox 3's smooth scrolling also doesn't reach Safari level yet.

Totally. Some parts were too melodramatic. Also, I found some parts just downright annoying like the whole Baltar cult thing. In general, it's all getting too metaphysical religion visions mumbo jumbo for my taste.
