No way! That's sad news
-
I haven't been to any shows in over 2 years...le sigh.
-
meshuggah fking owns Try Nothing, Chaosphere, or I. I like pretty much everything by them but Contradictions Collapse.
-
I wasn't very impressed with the HF-1. Of course, I didn't get to hear it on some modded sony 999 something and a ppx3, so maybe a better system would change my mind.
-
That's probably true...the problem for me is that I don't want to use a mac. I want my music server to be the same computer I play games on. I guess you can't have everything (no, I won't buy a mac to dual boot windows...overpriced).
-
i don't really care which OS is better...I just have no use for a mac.
-
And fuck apogee for going mac only

My understanding of DIY audio isn't of a high enough level to understand everything being discussed in that thread...hopefully someone can do a recap of the general sentiment.
-
My fiancee would like that...she's always mentioning old bay seasoning. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't care much for it, though.
-
that sounds nice

< huge fan of popcorn. I use Orville Redenbacher popped in one of those big silver mixing bowls on the stove, using canola oil. I've read that peanut oil is even better, but that's expensive. I usually season it with garlic salt/powder, fine-grained salt like pickling salt, butter salt, and actual melted butter. Verah niiice. Parmesan and Red Hot is nice for a change. For microwave popcorn, I use cheap old Weavers, then I put a liberal amount of cheese powder my fiancee's mom gets from the Amish market in and shake it up...that's pretty damn good. If you want to go deluxe with microwave popcorn, I like Orville Redenbacher's Pour Over series.

That's what I was thinking, but for me that seems unfortunate. Most people praise the HD650's balanced, but I don't really notice much change in them between balanced and single-ended...maybe a 5% difference, certainly nothing like what you've described. It's actually something that's been bothering me a bit, lately. I've thought of posting a new thread to ask opinions on balanced vs. single-ended as in my experience it's not nearly the change most people make it out to be.

the most comprehensive list...evar! thanks

My pair is a newer RS-1 but before they went buttonless. I've been experimenting with the pads a lot in the past few weeks (between bowls and flats), and while a lot of times flats work well, bowls are the only way to lift a very slight muffling of vocals that I get on some recordings.

I'm not nearly educated enough on this election (man, where does the time go? anyone have a link for a general run down of each candidates general positions?), but there are certain choices I definitely don't want.
-
Neither do I...I have a pair, but I don't care for them much.
-
Anyone else had the chance to give this a whirl?
-
Yeah, I think it's the hops...It doesn't take much beer before I'm getting red splotches all over, feeling too hot, and throwing up. It's awesome
-
Liquor and wine...I'm allergic to beer, but I don't mind since the ones I tried before realizing I was allergic all sucked.
-
Did you get a pair of these, yet? I'm intrigued.
-
<- RS-1 fanboy, amb's designs fanboy
-
I'm not sure where I read it, but I remember reading they were at least decent.
-
You'll hear from Ori that he has no LED's due to noise, as well
-
lol, flippin' sweet

Awesome, iceman I also found him through his Star Wars work, specifically NJO book 13, Traitor (which happens to be my favorite SW book out of the 50 or so I own). I didn't know he had a new SW book coming up, so I'll have to keep an eye out...I haven't read a SW book since Stover's Revenge of the Sith.
