Sadly Thunderbolt 2 is more or less just Thunderbolt 1 in different clothes. Source. I don't know what you mean by that, but one of these days iTunes needs native FLAC file support.

How funny is it that after Denver Tebow goes to two cities that couldn't care less about Tim Tebow's religious zeal.

^ Oh thank god! Trying to get PCs to interface with our Mac file servers at work can be painful. Hopefully things get easier with 10.9. I guess they are trying to push everyone towards thunderbolt? Considering that its hard to even find a PC motherboard with thunderbolt on it I wonder if Apple isn't a little too out-in-front on this one.

Yeah. I am also wow'ed by Sony. Microsoft left the door cracked and Sony walked right through it. I wasn't considering a PS4 before but watching that press conference after work last night made me sit up and take notice. MS now needs to either explain why their system will sell at a premium or drop their price to match.

^ No surprise there. The Pro systems have slightly slower cores, just more of them. Unless you know you are going to be running a bunch of multithreaded apps that can really take advantage of the Pro systems the iMac and mini are probably a better bet. Still. That new Pro is just way too darn sexy. Check out the new product page on the Apple website. http://www.apple.com/mac-pro/ Oh my goodness is that ever hawt.

Yeah, but I just don't know if I'd trust one to be my primary work computer. For home use you can take the risk, but unless you have a really tech savvy friend I don't know what I'd do if I goofed it up. Its not like you can just call tech support.

http://www.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/Xbox_One_Price_and_Bundles $499 seems about $100 too much but I went ahead and plunked down on Amazon. I figure I can always cancel later if I change my mind. The TV integrated features seem pretty damn cool.

The problem with the Mac Mini is that its really a mobile platform in a desktops clothes. The mobile CPU and GPU are fine, but there is much better performance out there in the desktop class hardware. The downside is that desktop class hardware requires a significantly larger power supply and quite a bit more active cooling which makes it hard to put it in any kind of innovative case. I'm totally with peanuts on this one. It would be great to have a monitor-less desktop that used TOTL desktop level hardware without going to the much more expensive "E" level intel platforms and professional class graphics cards. My guess is that there isn't much of a market for this kind of computer on the Mac side which is a shame because it'd be pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. The new Pro is going to be pretty kick-ass, but its not really the computer I'm looking for.

With what looks like Ivy Bridge-E and dual AMD Fire Pro cards that thing is going to cost a friggin ton!

A great player while he was active, but also one of the greatest spokespeople the NFL ever had in retirement. RIP.

The US Dollar is now worth 100 yen. If anybody wanted to ever order some Stax that time is now. It's scary how cheap the 009s are in US dollars. Pricejapan has them down under $3,400! http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/10/business/dollar-breaches-100-yen.html

Saw the replay last night too. Yowza that looked bad. Here is hoping he makes a quick and complete recovery. This happened to a pitcher on the A's last year too. He recovered and is now pitching for the D-Backs.

^ And that one has since been sold back to Andy. I think one or two of the builds may have been "commissioned", so not sold in the strict sense but also no in use by the original builder. Of the 30, I wonder how many are in flawless operational condition?

Odd Problem With MS Word

Not the most powerful file recovery tool, but I find it often does the trick. I once accidentally deleted my entire music collection and this program saved it. Plus, hard to argue with free. http://www.piriform.com/recuva -
Tyll's got a pair, right? I wonder how they measure backwards.

Not exactly confidence inspiring. See this picture: From page 3 of this article: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9237727/How_big_is_the_sound_of_music_?taxonomyId=19&pageNumber=1

My pair just came in this afternoon. I'm gonna have to agree with Spritzer on this one. Just like you'd expect, tonally they are as fantastic as ever. While they aren't able to keep pace with the big boys when it comes to detail, punch, and technicalities, boy do they ever hit the nail on the head with the tonality. Smooth, with a tiny bit of warmth. You could listen to these all day. They'll make a great headphone to keep around the office.
