  1. In that case I'll have my fingers crossed for you!
  2. I'm also glad to see you got this resolved. So, does the RAM you wanted to add work in the replacement?
  3. So when you pulled the apple stock dimms and dropped in the new ones what happened?
  4. You'd think the Ivy Bridge iMac (presumably Z77 based) would be able to take any DDR3 Ram up to 1600mhz. Too bad Apple locks you out of the bios leaving you no way to check.
  5. Was it this part? "We don't base the design on some interpretation of the market needs or potential."
  6. Justin is exhibiting, right? Wait... don't see his name on the list.
  7. So I'm guessing we can probably count out Voltron and Mikey as well. Bummer.
  8. Who did you call? Your local store or the national number? Might as well give it a shot and see what happens
  9. A worthy choice, Monkey. I bought mine the 24th of January so I don't think I'm eligible to trade back in. Bummer.
  10. So thats 3 of us. Plus Purrin and Particleman makes 5. Anyone else?
  11. http://www.head-fi.org/t/644426/sf-bay-area-meet-on-sunday-february-17-2013-the-one-which-is-really-going-to-happen Who all from HC is going?
  12. Ha, if only
  13. Well, in case you change your mind I'm sure Greg (horio) or I would happily forgo brining a source in lieu of using your turntable. If not, then maybe next time we have a mini-meet.
  14. So Rick... Two questions. One, are you going to the Bay Area meet, and two, any chance you'll bring the turntable and a couple of these 45s? That'd be friggin' sweet!
  15. Kind of an interesting read. http://gizmodo.com/5981823/beat-by-dre-the-inside-story-of-how-monster-lost-the-world
  16. I believe Apple's built in Quicktime player has a screen recording feature that might fit the bill? I'm on Mountain Lion though so I'm not sure if the Snow Leopard version of Quicktime has the same feature.
  17. I contacted Oppo customer support last week to check in on the status of a Windows 8 USB driver. They had no updates and said they are still waiting on XMOS to deliver it to them. That (lack of) news after all these months makes me a sad panda.
  18. Well, went ahead and made my big newegg purchase. I ordered pretty much everything but a graphics card, as I figure its probably best to wait until NVidia and AMD announce their 2013 slate. I'll just plan on running the Intel integrated graphics until then. It should be a fun build. As far as MOBOs go, I went with the ASRock Z77 OC Formula.
  19. Looks like we (mostly) have our answer. http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2013/01/surface-pro-disk-space-to-fall-a-long-way-short-of-what-youd-expect/
  20. Congrats! Welcome to the retina club.
  21. So, quick GPU question. Can you do SLI/Crossfire with two mismatched graphics cards or do they have to be the same make and model. For example, could you SLI a 660 Geforce with a 680? or would you have to do a pair of 660s/680s?
  22. "All of that being said, I don't really view the 13-inch rMBP as an alternative to the 15, but rather a step up from the MacBook Air. The MBA may be lighter, but Apple definitely blurred the line between the MBA and MBP with the 13-inch Retina. Performance is very similar between the two machines, but the rMBP's display is worlds better. For any power user, I don't know that I'd recommend the 13-inch MacBook Air over the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro. It really is the best of both worlds." From Anandtech
  23. Seems like the plaintiff is just angling to get paid-off. Its sad that its easier and more cost effective to pay these people to go away than it is to get a summary judgement or dismissal.
  24. Yes, all windows 8 computers are like that. Just disable pagefile and hiberfile and that'll free up a bunch of space.
