  1. Ladies & Gentlemen - The Rolling Stones Live album from the Exile Tour. I still think Mick Taylor was the best lead guitar player they've ever had.
  2. Needed a hat to wear while I'm out hiking so I figured I'd support my boys Pierre and Yuki!
  3. Is this just a blinged-out Grado? 🤔
  4. Yes, I have shameful tastes. That being said, I'm enjoying these pop punk albums. Keep 'em coming! The sign of a solid album to me is if, after playing it, I want to throw it in to my regular rotation for a while. This one is a nice surprise.
  5. ^ The Arcade Fire set at Coachella this weekend was great and worth a watch if you can find it online! I am for sure gonna see them whenever they decide to come through on their tour.
  6. Happy birthday, Jeffy!
  7. Endurance - Alfred Lansing I was inspired to pick this up after they found the Endurance preserved under the ice. What. A. Story. I knew the broad outlines of the Shackleton expedition, but this takes you day by day through the gauntlet. It is an incredible tale of survival that I wouldn't believe if it wasn't true. Chilled me to the bones and I can't get the smell of burning seal flesh out of my nose. Highly recommended.
  8. Really nice biopic of Gilbert in the NYT today. I am sad he is gone. What a funny man. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/04/12/arts/gilbert-gottfried-dead.html
  9. Cool demo! The fuel tanks aren't rigid to help prevent punctures during a collision. To keep fuel load to a minimum they use a combination of baffling and additional low pressure fuel pumps.
  10. Happy birthday, Tyler! Stay safe out there!
  11. From the new season of Bridgerton. It took me a second to realize what this was during the episode, but a string quartet cover of Robyn’s Dancing on My Own is enough to melt even my cold heart.
  12. Happy birthday, Doug!
  13. Machine Gun Kelley - mainstream sellout Yeah, dump on pop punk all you want, but I am 100% here for this! Bought tickets to see the tour when he comes through the Bay Area this summer.
  14. What a dumb shit move. Go fight him in back, not on tv in the middle of the broadcast. Getting up on stage and assaulting a comedian for that? A very poor display of self control.
  15. Impressive to see Max beat the Ferraris. That kid can drive. Glad no missiles fell on the track during the GP. My favorite driver after watching the Netflix series is Pierre. I’ll buy one of his jerseys if he is able to make a podium this year.
  16. I’ve never been able to shake the habit of subvocalization so I’ve been stuck with the same narrator for every book I’ve read. 🙃
  17. Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir From the author of The Martian, this is another "science the shit out of it" book. It is extremely entertaining. If you liked either the book or movie of Martian, this one is a no-brainer. Wikipedia says the movie rights have already been snapped up. I'll be very curious how they make the movie work for reasons I won't spoil here.
  18. Did you get a picture with Blinken when he came through?
  19. I’m way late to the party but the Netflix F1 show is quite good.
  20. Happy birthday, Al! Hope to buy you a round in person at the Younger release coming up!
  21. Happy birthday, Fitz!
  22. I'd buy the display if it wasn't 60hz.
  23. What the heck, I'm in! If it is poison at least we all go down together, like Jonestown. Kidding, of course
  24. Sorry for your loss, Todd.
  25. I’m losing hope for the current Ukraine government pretty quickly. They need a win in the field, any win, and they need it bad. To date all the Ukraine defense forces seem to have done is slow down some of the Russian advances. None have been reversed or permanently halted. Pictures of ordinary citizens taking up arms and making Molotovs in defense of the fatherland is not something that gives me much confidence. No allied army is coming to help. Sanctions aren’t ending this war. Ask Cuba/North Korea/Iran how much sanctions deterred them from doing what they were going to do anyways. Yes, their people suffer, but since when have authoritarian rulers cared about the people’s welfare as a top priority? I wonder what the end game of all this is going to be?
