  1. Great Mike! Keep at it, it will get somewhat easier and you will find yourself riding longer and farther!
  2. Try some anti-seize compound on the threads (or at least grease) when you put them on. Remember that the non-drive side is left-hand thread. Shop? WTF is that
  3. Ouch! Is that current? If so, where?
  4. Man. you're getting old Dan. Maybe even fat and slow like me And you always ride into the wind outbound, or pay the price later. Sub downhill/uphill for wind as may be.
  5. ^ Ain't that the truth! Nice move Al Me: a week ago, took Tuesday off and played golf with a good friend at a nice course. We wound up getting 36 holes in with an 11:00 am start, beat the storms home that night (for the most part). Had some good beers on the course (some brought with); Revolution A Little Crazy and some Two Brothers Sidekick. Had a great time.
  6. If it was Firestone Walker brewery, that'd be a different thing...

  10. Just curious on the appeal/purpose of the belt drive? Seems like an expensive "fix" for something that isn't a problem? Could be missing something of course...

Thanks all! Had a really nice one, other than working until mid-afternoon. And no reality warp; yet...

  16. What's it got for gears/shifters on it? I fixed a friend's mtn type bike that had 7 speed Shimano. It was the type that the click shifter and brake lever were built into the same assembly, and his would not shift in front either. I did take his apart (near parts explosion), but later figured out it was just solidified lube causing the problem, and probably could have fixed it with a bunch of WD40 or similar. Once I got it cleaned out, I just re-lubed it with some Superlube, and still working fine several months later).
  17. Happy Birthday Shelly! Hope it was a good one!
  18. +1 on bar ends. For a helmet or eyeglass mount, the Take a Look mirrors are supposed to be good.
  19. Happy (belated) Ryan! Hope you get feeling better soon.
  20. I hadn't initially intended to go on this, but got a wild hair and went ahead and did it. I've commuted to work once so far this year, so 9 miles was the furthest I had ridden this year. The 2nd half was back into the wind, and not exactly "flat as a pancake" as advertised I found out that fat boy doesn't like climbing so well. Time to knock off some pounds...
  21. Happy Birthday!

  25. Those guys were a long time Mac accelerator vendor/manufacturer. I'm sure they are trying to reinvent themselves, and may be having cash flow problems or something. They used to be well thought of in the Mac world. Dunno on what trust level I would give them now though. Maybe like a late-term Mikhail? Without BGs.
