  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. Shows up on the US site: CDV19CF050DO3F Cornell Dubilier Mica Capacitors If it fits properly, I would think it would work.It appears the lead spacing is 0.344" versus 0.25" for the ceramic.
  3. Bump. Starting to collect parts and re-reading the thread. Hopefully the BOM that digipete sent is accurate, at least WRT part values
  4. Belated condolences on your Grandfather, Steve. As noted, he does sound like a good one. I still miss my grandfather and think about him. And Reks, sorry about the leg. Not being able to put weight on one sucks. With the air splint/boot, does that mean you will be able to walk on it, of still need to use crutches?
  5. Happy Birthday!
  6. Technically, no RCA connector is 75 ohms, regardless of the marketing BS. Some commercial RCA cables might use 75 ohm coax as the cable (Belden 1505, etc.). You could do some of these: Enjoy The Music's Max Rochlin Memorial Digital & Video Cable. (6) Redco Audio - Canare RCAP-C4F Male RCA Crimp Style @ $3.50ea = $21 (or available at markertek as well for $4.09 ea) (6) Canare Corporation Of America Canare CB25 Colored Cable Boots for LV-61S / L-4CFB / V-4CFB Cable Connector Boots at Markertek.com @ $0.25 = $1.50 (2 each in red, green and blue) (60') Belden CDT Inc Belden 1505A RG59/20 HD and SDI Digital Coaxial Cable Bulk Digital Video Cable at Markertek.com @ $0.49 = $29.40 some heatshrink, techflex and maybe a bit of Caig ProGold. Don't need the Canare crimper really, just a soldering iron for the pins and some pliers. So $50+ in parts, versus the $112 that BJC charges for their 1505F cable or $85 for their 1694a cable.
  7. That is an incredible story Dinny. Lennon was always my favorite and IMHO the most talented of the Beatles. He seemed to manage to stay true to himself as well. RIP.

    K701.

Dynalo (what I'm using now) or Dynahi (what I'm finishing casing on this winter). This with 601s. M^3 with sigma11 PSU would be a solid rec as well, and probably warm them up a touch. And x2 on the shut up and read (including welcome pm) or go over there. Or not.

    X-box or PS3?

On the X-Box, the 4G and 250G consoles are the hard drive sizes? 4G seems kinda small if that is the case. If that is indeed the case, how much impact does HD size have on the system performance? Thanks for the table as well. You can tell I've done my research...

    X-box or PS3?

Yeah, good thought. My older son thought that pretty much everything they want to run is available on both platforms. If I do decide to go with the X-Box, I see 4G and 250G systems available. Also the Kinnect thing (which excited my wife for exercise games ). The bundles with the 250G, Kinnect etc. get up to around $600 which is more that we want to spend. $200 sounds more like it But I don't want to do something stupid which will wind up limiting future options, etc. or burn cash getting there.
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Funny story. Back when I was a music major, Roy Burns was a guest artist (drummer) at a jazz show. Talked with him a bit, and he related this story: One night, he was playing a gig with Dave Brubeck. After the gig, Dave asked him "Roy... how come you quit playing your bass drum on such and such tune?" Roy replied "You were doing such a good job with your foot, I didn't feel I needed to!"

    X-box or PS3?

I shouldn't say this because I was considering it, but Bryan (Aura) has a PS3 with PS2 hardware compatibility FS right now in the FS forum... just sayin... And feel free in the thread Al. Also, I am reluctant (personally) on the X-Box because MS is the devil. Of course, Sony isn't far behind, based on my experiences with a couple of Trinitron/WEGA TVs

    X-box or PS3?

No. Our house is uhmmm video-challenged. What is this blu-ray and HDTV you speak of? (actually do have HD now) Yeah, that's it.

    X-box or PS3?

Thinking about buying one or the other for my two sons for xmas. They currently have a PS2. I don't think they would be interested in playing any of their old games, and not sure what newer games they are interested in, though I would guess it would be Call of Duty, etc. I know they used to play the ones where you run around the city being a gangsta of some type, forget the name (keep thinking Sin City, but that was a movie) So, which one to go for? From what I understand, PS3 is free online whereas X-box requires a subscription? Also, any deals out there would be appreciated. Like these two need anything else to distract them from school (where's that double-palm smiley)
  16. They look legit, but the amp PCB is not set up for these; it is set up for the Linear Systems version in the TO-71 package, or pairs of 2SK170 singles. http://www.linearsystems.com/datasheets/LSK389.pdf
  17. Those are the ones that are ~$10 a pop? Pity they don't make them in the 3296W form factor...

I hope Jacob put the knives away! Hopefully you all are having a good time!

    RIP Ron Santo

RIP. Rough later life with his diabetes and all. Not much of a baseball fan, but I remember him when growing up. Agreed on the HOF as well.
  20. I just see that Killing Joke is playing the Broken Bottle (IIRC) in Chicago the 10th (and maybe the 11th). I take it they canceled? Oh, and it probably didn't come through in previous post, but sorry you missed these.
  21. Stop yer whining! Killing Joke might be fun to see (didn't even know they were out and about these days). Same for Social Distortion. Haven't listened to enough Epica to have an opinion, but the scenery would be pretty good lol
  22. Happy Birthday Gene! It was great meeting you at CJ this year... definitely have to have a few beers sometime. Hope you have a great one!
  23. Since you hadn't been around this summer, we never got an update on how your riding/racing went? How many miles did you do this year?
  24. In general, the softer the seat, the worse the problem, particularly chafing. I ride a Brooks Pro saddle (for 37 years), which is simply a piece of tensioned leather, and have ridden it for 6+ hours in the past (far distant past) with just gym/running shorts and no sores. Not sure I would try that now, but I can ride it over an hour without using bike shorts and no real problems. As mentioned, biking underwear might be an option if you don't want to join the lycra crowd. It also depends on how upright you are sitting. Distributing your weight between your butt and your arms/hands will alleviate some of the butt pain (and possibly introduce wrist pain). Are these normal spin bikes (Schwinn whatever, or the like)?
  25. Happy Birthday!
