  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. I don't Kerry, but I used to buy directly from Linear Technology. Now that they have been bought by ADI, I don't see how to do that on their website. I couldn't check to see if they even have availability.
  3. Happy Birthday!

  6. I think your comp. capacitors should be fine, but I don't know for sure. On the THAT340 replacement, no changes required. Just make sure you put them in correctly (N-JFET for NPN and P-JFET for PNP).

  11. Yes, very sorry for your losses gents.
  12. This was only on the one which I repaired for tkam, but I couldn't really tell much difference between them. I think tkam liked the zf better.
  13. Happy Birthday tall one!
  14. With the '70s shag carpeting, an ashtray would not feel out of place...
  15. Happy Birthday John!
  16. The two outside pins are an Enable pin and a Sense pin. Ignore and use the center 3. This epay listing has 5 pins and discusses these. Amb's don't use them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/253306361665?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=253306361665&targetid=1263104806246&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9021654&poi=&campaignid=10459841961&mkgroupid=123050526620&rlsatarget=pla-1263104806246&abcId=2146002&merchantid=6296724&gclid=CjwKCAjwp_GJBhBmEiwALWBQk5ELjVxC7yJqYc4yYFUNldtxaPJKo5meQI6te--2Bv8zild8S4IahBoCzIYQAvD_BwE
  17. And this from the folks that brought us RoHS...
  18. So... my Windoze machine (new in June) is screwing up on OneDrive stuff. IT wanted to give me a Macbook Pro instead. Since I've been a Mac user since the '80s, I was game, until I discovered that Macs don't deal with OLE embedded docs well. No go on embedded pdfs or ppt or anything other than Word or Excel. WTF? Disappointing, but since I really need that at work, so no go on the Mac. Shit. Is this MS or Adobe, or both on this?
  19. Been watching the series version of Hanna. With Miriele Enos and Joel Kinnaman from The Killing, etc. Pretty good so far. Kind of followed the movie somewhat the first 3 or 4 episodes some. I'm enjoying it, but I also liked the movie.
  20. So not a standard blinking on the Panny? We bought ours (42") from my brother, and within a years it conked out with 10 blinks. Looking it up, other than the surface mount soldering, it amount to replacing 2 ICs on daughter boards (8 pin) and removing a tiny ceramic cap on each and replacing with an electro. They even sold kits for this. Been working great ever since (5+ years), but with the amount my wife leaves it on, etc., only a matter of time.
  21. I guess no one mentioned it, but the MPSA42 is the same as the KSP42. Mouser has 14,000 in stock (Central Semi).
  22. ^ Holy shit! RIP Charlie...
  23. The caps are probably 160V. I've used 1/4W resistors as well. I wouldn't think there would be any current going thru these, but haven't measured or calculated it.
  24. Those were a snubber based on a post in 2010? by John Swenson on diyaudio. There has since been much more work done on these. See this thread: https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/power-supplies/243100-simple-math-transformer-snubber-using-quasimodo-test-jig.html Sorry, it is long. For the combo recommended as a swag by Swenson, I had some MKP1837 22nf caps laying around, and just used crap Radioshack carbon 330R resistors.
  25. I'd agree, just from listening, and not the Stones. Led Zeppelin. Even though LZ 1 was one of the first records I bought, I didn't have any copies of any LZ, so decided to wade in. Looked at SH forum for some info, but the originals aren't bad (target discs), the mid 90's remasters suck, and the 2000's remasters are pretty good. Haven't decided whether I like the original or 2000s better yet.
