Oops, sorry. No, I got the unit in fine shape. I like it very much! That said, I don't use it a lot as I haven't been playing DVDs/Blurays much lately.

Sorry, don't know where to find either, but in general, for any of the designs using old silicon, it is a good idea to source all of the silicon, or at least make sure you can, before investing in PCBs, etc.

Haven't looked at the schematic, but 30V secondary would produce 30 * 1.414 = 42.4 V raw DC, less the rectifier drop (1.4V for full wave). So if the caps are right across that, 25V isn't going to live long. Looked at the schematic, and the caps are right across the secondaries after the bridge. A 30-0-30 seems rather excessive for a +/- 12V supply. 15-0-15 would have been a better choice.

Yeah, I had heard some negatives regarding him (and his thumbprint on the show) before the series started, but went ahead and watched it anyhow. I can't say I've been a big fan of his (watched Dollhouse, but never really watched much of his other stuff). Apparently he isn't involved with the show since the first few episodes.

Has anyone been watching "The Nevers" on HBO? I have, and while it has many problems and is kind of a mess, have been enjoying it. Joss Whedon, who I know has a lot of fans here.

Deftones-White Pony I'd always like the song Change when I would hear it on the radio, but had never bought one of their albums. My oldest son had played Beauty School off a later album for me, so I requested both of these as CDs for my birthday. I listened to Change last night on the speakers and was astounded at how good it sounded. I really wish some of the stuff I really like from the early-mid '90s had been recorded and mastered this well.

Thanks guys. Yes, I use the 5.08mm SPOX connectors on my own (lower voltage) builds, as I detest the screw down connectors for my own use. I'll need to take a closer look at these, but Molex makes a Micro-Fit 3.0 series, which is 3mm pitch, and rated for 600V apparently. 3 pin PN: 43650-0315. Might be something to plan for on PCB designs if they actually work out to their ratings. I have some of them for some Salas shunts for a UGS preamp project.

Any part numbers for these? Any search I do on Mouser brings up a TE Mate-N-Lok, and isn't 5.08mm pitch..

I don't have either of the devices that James has (dy294 or the peak atlas dca75... wish I did), but I built an adapter for the Toshiba dual JFETs using a zig-zag socket, a piece of PCB board, and some thick diode leads. I'll try to post a pic later. This, in conjunction with James' mod with the clip leads, would make this easy.
