For me it is difficult to distinguish anything. Resistors look like Vishay RN60. I don´t think they deserve to be changed unless some are burned. Wires, I don´t use anything specific, just a cable with an adequate thickness and a good dielectric. For the audio signal I sometimes use shielded wire (for microphones or music instruments) sometimes I use Mogami, Canare or just the one available in the electronics/music instruments store of my city…. nothing esoteric. Edit: This is my opinion. Obviously you can use the material you think is appropriate.

If you allow me, I would do all the wiring again. I don´t like having everything disorganized. There are many wires that cross, are very long or are placed directly on some components.

Between the GG and the BH there are differences of "nuances", but both sound very similar. I can´t do a direct comparison with Megatron. They are very different animals.

I'm not very good at describing sounds but you can imagine. Megatron has tubes in his pre-stage and this conditions su sound.

Updates: . With the E80CC has more gain. I think it is an improvement over the 6189. I like it much more with the E80CC. . JJ octett EL34 matched, off set is around 1~2volt. Balance 1~2volt too. It really deserves to invest in a completely matched octet (It's expensive but it makes up) Did I say that it runs very hot?

I´m using the same kind of socket (but I prefer bakelite). So far I have not had problems. You can solder them to the Pcb without problem (always when you have a powerful soldering iron, about 25 / 30W). I recommend that when you solder them to the plate, you have a valve inserted. This will keep everything aligned.

Trimpot is for output current adjust. I used +/- 23Vdc but you can use until +/- 24Vdc. If you are thinking of using just one trafo for the four channels you will need a huge trafo. For a balanced configuration I preferred to use two PSU's and two GRLV's Edit: I'm sorry, I was confused. I still have trouble distinguishing the names of these two amplifiers

Thanks Dr. Gilmore. It really is not that expensive either (an extra Opa and some more resistances). If it is as versatile as we want, what does it matter if something more expensive comes out? In addition, the unbal/bal works perfectly so it would be normal to have the buffer at the same level.

I think that now it´s finished but I want to add a few resistor on the heaters filaments because I have 6.8vAC. Sometimes this happens to me with the Toroidy transformers. Front end tubes draw about 11,5mA. I was surprised that this amplifier has very little gain. On the other hand it makes up for it with a very pleasant and musical sound. I´m waiting a pair of E80CC for replacement the 6189.
