I don't see why they wouldn't work. Of course, you'd have to wear some kind of head set/band to hold the direction indicator (i.e. the sensor that tells the Realiser which way your head is turned). Normally this is attached to the top of the headphones.

I haven't checked cameras in 3 or 4 years or so, but typically Canon has better low light performance than Panasonic. If you are willing to post process, they are about the same. I suggest that you read reviews in the better review sites and see what makes sense for you. I highly recommend getting image stabilization. Having it makes for much better pictures. At least it does in my shaky hands.

Mine wasn't that hard to open once I realized that one of the screws wasn't 1/16". I can't remember for sure but think it was the closest metric size to 1/16". The writing on the hex key was too small for my old eyes to read.

I agree about getting something like a modded Denon 2900. However, it's much cheaper to buy an already modded player used than to pay a modder to do it. A modded player just doesn't hold its value. And no, my eXemplar Denon 2900 is not for sale.
