Lack of bacon was one of the hardest things when I lived in Paris. You can get lardons or poitrine, but neither is smoked (the back bacon in your photo isn't smoked either). It's weird that bacon hasn't become popular as the French know good food.

I'll try to make it in February. November is a no go for me.

Happy Birthday, Debbie. Yesterday I saw two uncommon cars on the freeway about 2 minutes a part. Once was an Aston Martin DBS and the other was a Hyundai Equus. Aston Martins will always be rare but I expect to see more Equus in the near future.

I was lucky enough to have the privilege of meeting Matt multiple times. He was the most accepting person I've ever met. I've been bawling on and off since I found out about his passing. Matt, I'm going to miss you for the rest of my life. Your passing is crushing to us all. Rest in peace. Added: The world would be a much nicer place if most people were much more like Matt.
