Just caught this post on another forum, any truth in that or audiophool hallucination?

I strongly disagree with him on that one, his weird "off" drumming during the intro section is one of my favorite things in this song.

Yeah, I don't like it either. In fact, it was "mon ami" in French, which is on the same level of familiarity as buddy. Anyway, the guy looked like a dumb non-techie employee who's just there to sell extended warranties so I didn't bother too long with him and went on my own searching for a SL copy.

I'm curious, did anyone here ever own a pair of ESP950 that didn't develop the squealing in the end?

This morning, I walked into a BestBuy where they sell Apple products and asked an employee in the computer section: "Did you receive copies of Snow Leopard yet?". Answer: "Sorry buddy, I don't know what you're talking about." It turned out they didn't have any copies yet, but I'm shocked how uninformed some employees there are. Will go to an Apple store tomorrow.

There's only one rule here: don't be an asshat. What does it mean concretely? Well, you have to read a couple of threads to understand as it depends on many variables, which include humor of the mods, tone of the posts, past experience, etc. Also, there are a couple of resident asshats here, which circumvent to the only rule, but those spots are already filled.

MSI Wind U100B @279.99$ Pretty neat deal for Canadians if you're looking for a Hackintosh-able netbook. I just picked one up to see if it can replace my MacBook for on-the-go duties. So far, I really like the keyboard, probably the best of all the netbooks I've tried. Screen is great, though the resolution is small-ish (1024x600). Windows XP runs very smooth, same for Ubuntu Netbook Remix. I'll try to install OS X later today. I've yet to decide what will be the permanent OS, I was thinking Arch Linux with a lightweight WM like OpenBox, but I'm not sure if I want to put all the time needed to configure it.

Genesis - The Cinema Show: for a Genesis fan, this song has got it all: pastoral 12-strings guitar intro, weird Gabriel lyrics, flute, lots of mellotron and bass pedals and a keyboard solo to die for Harmonium - Le Premier Ciel: I'd be very surprised if anyone here know this one, but for me it represents the apogee of progressive rock from Quebec. Beautiful lyrics, great blend of rock and symphonic instrumentation, simply epic.

Guys, post your thoughts in the ESP950 thread when you have time, they're really underrated headphones and certainly need some love. If it wasn't for that damn intermittent squealing problem, I wouldn't have sold my pair. In fact, the squealing wasn't even there on the last pair I had, but I was so afraid of it to come back that I sold them anyway.

Thanks for the impressions guys, keep 'em coming. Any of you tried the LCD-1 with symphonic music? Sounds like it'd be a good match with some of the characteristics I've read (rich mids, good soundstage, non-peaky highs)...

Stax Lambda Signature It seems like I'm trying to pull a tyrion. Went in two weeks from a small Etymotic/Pico setup to two pairs of Lambda, a SRD-7 Pro, a Denon DA-500 and a Trends TA-10 without selling what I already had. It'll be fun to do a comparison between the Pro and the Sigs, I'll probably end up selling the loser.
