Dinny, I have both the options you are considering. I prefer the larger Retina screen honestly, but in terms of performance they are surprisingly close.
A bit of victory. My bass amp and balanced crossover are working! Yes those subs can put out quite nicely.
I probably will cut a custom shelf and hang the crossover from the bottom. This means its time to work on my own crossover, which will be next.
just catching up, cool stuff steve. Glad you could find all your tools to get the project done, though you know I would have let you come up and use mine :)
So, I'm thinking about taking the Amtrak from AA on Friday, and arriving in Chicago at 4pm. I wouldn't probably be up for the show that day, but dinner/drinks, etc. Then the show on Saturday and Sunday. Would that be a reasonable plan?
maybe one to consider:

(oh and while you are there.... http://www.audiohobby.com/2012/11/fun-with-pass-sit-1.html)
Yup. For reference those heatsinks are 12"x12"
I will bring the subs in and snap a shot tomorrow
Also notice the bullets not the showerheads in the Lowthers. I think they are an improvement.
It didnt seem from some of the postings that he had inside knowledge that this would happen, but I have a feeling he has "enough". Even in quantities though these arent cheap.
What strikes me about these horns is the soundstaging. It is quite nice and would be bettered only by a nice room and treatments in terms of upgrades I think, the electronics are very complementary. The subs and bass amp are done. Next step is the active crossover.
