  1. I figured Dinny would put the $500 towards potential credit card interest and just start the DACes revolving door on its merry way.
  2. Frank, I am curious if you would consider the argument that sources which offer balanced output, even if this output isn't the one used, sound better on average than their single-ended only counterparts?
  3. Recipe? Vegetarian?
  4. I would use the THAT chip instead. If you need a board look here: http://sjostromaudio.com/
  5. I'd contact this guy and see what he can do for you: http://www.diyaudio....-class-amp.html Perhaps just send the Gerber's to BatchPCB and get some one-offs made, or use the part position for your own veroboard layout.
  6. Sounds more like an audiophile than an academic.
  7. Heading to the Fort and got bumped to first class! Yay! Any recommendations on a place to eat near BWI? Have a dinner tomorrow that I need to have an important conversation over
  8. Still love these
  9. Grape vine sounds cool, never tried that.
  10. Does anyone happen to know the exact hole locations for the hifi2000 Galaxy Maggiorato cases? It seems .2"/.3" from the corner and a M4 countersunk screw. It seems that their tolerance isn't great, for example the corner radii.
  11. I see. What's on sale? I'll sign up.
  12. Anyone else notice all the "no snow globes alllowed" TSA signs?
  13. Anyone keep track of the PcX discount specials? I'm wanting to get some Caps and am waiting around for the next special. If anyone happens to notice the announcement or has a feeling when it would be, perhaps you could post here?
  14. fair assumption, yes.
  15. Using a quick connect terminal that allows for 2x18AWG wire diameter input, Really, that's the best way.
  16. interesting article: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/diyaudio-com-articles/163575-audio-component-grounding-interconnection.html
  17. you want a (room temperature vulcanizing) RTV that is suitable for PCBs. GE/Momentive make good ones. Google is your friend. Fry's sells it, of all places here in Texas.
  18. I respect that. I have heard the most improvement out of my phono stage upgrades. NP says the new topology is a very nice step up, hence my curiosity.
  19. Knob question! Any creative ways to do any of the following: multiple "preset" positions using a traditional pot "lock" the position (could require removing the top to unlock)? I'm thinking I'd have a shaft extender going back to a PCB mount pot. I guess a false front could satisfy #2, which is the real requirement. #1 would be cool if there was a way to do it, I'm guessing a mechanical solution of sorts is what I'm looking for.
  20. That's lots of Facebook stalkers!
  21. I'd side with the douche on this one. RMAA is worthless if you're looking for absolute measurements. Relative measurements, like most of us use to iteratively improve designs it's decent. agreed. That's the "cost" of minimal part designs I guess. In my opinion, this trade-off makes Charles Hansen's designs impressive, as not relying on global feedback and getting the numbers he does is a lot of work.
  22. The ones reason I like the EN3 are they are cheap, decent pin densities and most importantly have PCB mount versions.
  23. I like Switchcraft EN3 series.
