  1. Damn Justin Er, you wouldn't consider maybe loaning it to me for, I dunno, a month or six, just so I can see how fully awesome my Smegma Pros really are Hehe That's a great looking amp and probably sounds even better than it looks. I'm all jealous of you canjam peeps.
  2. Honestly, it'd make you cringe it's so botched up I took some gamma forks and removed the plastic leaving the pins with steel spade ends, I cut a slot in the top of each cup and glued the spades in place at an angle so the pads meet at the base for a good fit. It's pretty ugly but effectove and very solid.
  3. Thanks. Hehe, noooo I don't think so Sadly, no. It's a bit of a mess as the glue I was using expands and makes a hideous yucky sight. Sadly I didn't know it was going to do this and certainly wasn't expecting it. Oh well, live and learn. Thankfully the sound is amazing so that makes up for it.
  4. The Smegma Pro lives! Just been running them from the SRD-7MkII and it's been mindblowingly amazing. They pack a hefty wallop and rattle the ears. Yes they have as good an impact as nearly every phone I've heard less one or two. They are fast as lightening, clear as a bell with explosive dynamics and they go deeeeep. Fuck these are good! They beat everything I've heard to date including the K1000, HP-2, Leatherhead.. Fanfuckingtastic!
  5. Your prices certainly seem reasonable given the labor and parts costs involved. I'm just glad pioneers like yourself are forging ahead with mods like these otherwise we'd all be at the mercy of high-priced amp builders. Bravo to you.

I think you shoulda had the caps plated/painted/epoxied or whatever. That dull silvery look just isn't menacing enough
  7. Good news on my part, I've been running them all day at work with an SRD-6 and even though it's low bias they still sounded fucking amazing and the buzzing is gone for now. The speed and solidity is outstanding, probably partly due to the lightweight but very rigid enclosures and solid driver mounting. I'm hearing some outstanding speed and resolution. Bass all the way down to an easily audible 20Hz
  8. I hope we get a heads up when it's posted so we can grab it before the fuckers delete it. Oh, and nice work Alex.

Great news! It's exciting just to read the progress.
  10. Torchwood, not great but beats cooking shows.
  11. That is just fucking priceless It's nice to see these sheisters exposed for the inept ripoff artists they are. I only hope many more people get to read this and word spreads so they can't screw up any more expensive phones with no liability. Talk about unprofessional.
  12. Bag of cheddar and bacon 'tater skins. Taters precious.

This thread has so much lose it's almost a win!

So, you still like the Denons more than the R10?

Colour of magic was great, sadly the earlier one, Hogfather, was awful.
  16. Dew Eeet
  17. I can't help but think the mill would be so much better if the 'props' were motorized, watching your phones slowly spinning.....
  18. Thanks, now I can catch up on it. Anyway, despite having heard none of them I'll vote for B22 just because I can
  19. I'll double check later to see what I can find, however dust still wouldn't cause the driver assembly to sound like it's rattling about in it's housing And no, these drivers are kept well away from the woodchipper
  20. I don't know, but it's a great name I read something about their amps a while ago but can't remember much about it.
  21. Also, it's making occasional static-like crackles with the volume down and no music playing via a Big Joe amp and SRD-7 Mk2.
  22. Damned if I can figure out what it is, it sounds like a substantial piece of something in there but there's no imbalance and it still sounds great but now with added crackling and whistles. Oh well, I'll take a wait and see stance and hope it doesn't fail completely. Those drivers are expensive when you're broke!
