  1. I am trying to catch up on reading the books I am constantly buying since getting this Kindle.

Or you could just loan it to me for the next few months and I will gladly carry it there and back for you.
  4. No, I told you to get a turntable and forget this digital crap. Now you need Amarra and I can let you "borrow" a hard drive full of Hi-Res for testing.
  5. I am in regardless, but if it has that feature that would be great. Using the MacBook Pro for that now but a slick little tablet to do that and search the web from my listening chair would be appealing.
  6. A Sabre DAC in a Rx size and form factor would be interesting. Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio - View Single Post - ALO USB DAC
  7. So you are running it via Firewire to the Esoteric and you are getting sound cut outs?
  8. Then if you have 24/192 music on your computer then the full version would make sense. I don't really have any need to go above 24/96 I am using the 24/96 limited asynch USB of the dCS.
  9. Does your Esoteric take 24/192 over firewire? I know the Ayre will take it over USB eventually.
  10. That was my first ever CD. I am listening to Kaki King.
  11. Happy Birthday Dom.
  12. Congrats to both Todd and Stretch. I bought AT ESW9s and another ALO RX amp.
  13. I have actually been listening to the woodied HF-1s more than the HF-2 lately but I don't really see selling them unless I get a big offer for the matching pair. I like the HF-2s and definitely think they do many things very well.
  14. So I am thinking about replacing the 7 year old Dynavector DV-20 on my bedroom Turntable. It has been so long since I bought a cartridge I am not even sure I remember how to mount one but I guess I will have to try. Anyone with a VPI or with more knowledge than I about matching cartridge to tonearm have any recommendations? Probably $2k or less. VPI Scoutmaster>Acoustech PHD phono preamp.
  15. On Vinyl.

Thanks for the Heads up Jim. I booked my room for Thursday-Sun with no issues.
  17. I didn't pay enough attention to see what sonic differences there were. I can say that things seem to come more into focus when I switch back and forth and it seems to be more obvious than I remember it being with the old version. My issues with sample rate seem to have stopped. I still have the issue every once in a while where I note Amarra is using over 1.5 Gb of RAM, and this is usually when it has set unused for a while and no music is playing.
  18. Those Porn websites should really invest in better security.
  19. Happy Birthday.

  21. Well if this does happen, I am in Miami Feb 28th - March 3 so I might just hang out down there the rest of the week and hang out with youse guys.
  22. While it is on the east side, I lived in this hotel for a year when I first got to NYC and it is very convenient for subway and bus routes and is pretty nice for the money. Unsupported Browser I don't think you will have any problem finding rooms under $200 a night during that time of year. You will find that the Times Square hotels are noisy 24x7 and very bright if the curtains aren't good. Most of my friends like to stay down in the Village for the better nightlife and food. While out of your price range, Chelsea Hotel is some place that everyone should stay at least once in their lives. 23. So is Virgils, Ummm Virgils. Dinny we need to have a business lunch at Virgils soon.
  24. Typically if there are women in the party I recommend Del Friscos over Peter Lugers. That is kind of a men's club and the staff seem to want to keep it that way. The Old Homestead is alright as well. There is also the Friday night Jazz at the Planetarium if you are a jazz kind of guy. Kind of like the old Pink Floyd laser shows but with stars and jazz. If you want something interesting go to Ninja. NINJA NEW YORK Restaurant, Finest Japanese Cuisine Better than I thought it was going to be.
  25. A lot of the best ones are gone now. The West Village still has a few nice ones Academy, Bleeker Bobs, etc. Footlight is gone as is Gimme, Gimme I believe. The Jazz Record Center is still in business I believe.
