  1. Happy Chinese take out day! ...to which my sister replied, "You romantic, you." ...which is pretty funny. Wish I'd thought of it. I'll see if I can find any pretty Chinese girls to take out later.
  2. Happy birthday, Ric! (party favour noise)
  3. Shining hotel done in Gingerbread form
  4. Happy holidays and jolly time off, everyone.
  5. I remember: Burial Now playing (whatever I can find on Tidal)
  6. https://green-carnation.bandcamp.com/album/light-of-day-day-of-darkness still the better album I need some (unrelated) help -- what is the name of that dub/electronica side project that has a dark name, something like Funereal. Side project of someone famous? One word. It's on the tip of my tongue, but I'm drawing a mental block.
  7. Happy birthday, Ken! (party favour noise)
  8. That's kind of low to the ground for you, innit? Me, worked from home, drove up to Genghis Grill for some grub -- poured rain hard on the way back, combined with The Great Exodus, took me over an hour to get back. Remind me not to do that again. I worked from home so I wouldn't have to drive in to work, completely cancelled out any benefit I may have acquired. @ self
  9. I know, right? You mention him, and he appears. Or perhaps, 'summons' is the correct word? 'Invokes'?

  11. Good news is good!
  12. TrueCAR.COM easy peasy lemon squeezy But yeah, figure out what you want first, that's a given.
  13. Leftover Mexican (waits for laughter to die down) Carnitas and rice
  14. Yeah, not seeing JMJ live (ever) is a regret of mine, he's one of my top 20 favourite music acts, and a role model of sorts. (Not the not-keep-it-in-his-pants part, though; the making instrumental music that's accessible as part, yes.)
  15. (not sure what Taylor Swift has to do with the show, but I enjoy watching her, and I got kind of carried away for the last hour)
  16. Vulnicura is her weirdest album yet. And that's saying something.
  17. Venetian Snares does analog!
  18. Yeah, we need about 5 more to make up for breeders like Grawk.
  19. Yeah, understood, Larry, but it could always be worse. I have a friend who was paralyzed from a motorcycle accident since he was around 20, was told he would never walk again, recovered enough to walk again (took decades), and then had a Segway accident and is now paralyzed again (he's around 50 now). I'm not trying to say which is worse, I'm just saying cherish her ability to walk at all.

  21. Yeah, it's just an EP, so listen to it, decide if it's worth bothering (the above YouTube appears to be the actual vinyl -- I only just learned that about the performances being different, but I grew up on that EP -- that's what got me into later Roxy Music -- so it holds a special place in my heart, and explains why I didn't feel I'd heard those particular performances recently) -- I doubt it, a lot of fondness comes from familiarity, IMHO. I think the other available performances are perfectly good, too, and have grown to like them (just like the difference in sequencing on The Name of this Band is Talking Heads -- I am now quite fond of the CD release).
