  2. No-one's going to take me alive The time has come to make things right You and I must fight for our rights You and I must fight to survive... (Everyone barely contains themselves from headbanging)
  3. Oof. Good point.
  4. Not sure I disagree with this. I mean, I still hate Trump, but at least no-one in NATO is going to go to war to defend Iran.
  5. I misread that as Israel attacked Lebanon News organization, Al Jazeera... I mean, c'mon, Israel, journalists are not the enemy!
  6. Happy birthday, Kerry! (party favour noise) 🥳
  7. Oh. 🥲
  8. Brendel was my favourite interpreter of Schubert's solo piano music. Check out his Wanderer Fantasy. This is more of a class on Schubert, taught/curated by Brendel: The sun seems so cold here The blossom is withered Life is old And what they say is empty words: I am a stranger everywhere. Totes relatable.
  9. Lots of 90's Yello. Visual representation with artistic license:
  10. RIP Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, an innocent bystander shot and killed while peacekeepers were pursuing someone with an AR-15, at the No Kings rally in Salt Lake City. He was a beloved member of the community, and "dressed" some pretty famous people in the style of his Pacific Islander culture. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-america/man-killed-no-kings-protest-salt-lake-city-designer-ah-loo-rcna213296?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us
  11. I totally went down the Kardi rabbit hole. I love hard pop. The girl has such a crazy soulful voice, and that vibrato is just (chef's kiss), yet the music they play rocks my socks right off. Kinda reminds me of Shirley/Garbage.
  12. You posted a different "My Favorite" track at the top of this page, but that's the only one that I remember.
  13. That's the spirit! Of course, that one's kind of cheating, since it references Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight", but still, it's brilliant.
  14. Part of the problem is the earworminess of the original tune. So, to start, pick a song that you find greater-than-or-equal-to in its earworminess. For example:
  15. Yeah, that sounds right!
  16. I have fond memories of having seen Nitzer Ebb exactly once. When that wobbly bassline started...
  17. Ohmigosh, I love "This House". So melodramatic. Right up there with "Winter Kills" in terms of depressing music. (For some reason, I'm always reminded of an SNL skit of a desperate, drunk woman in her apartment, "I'll shout from my window, to anyone listening: 'I'm losing!'" 🤣 ) In my top 10 favourite songs with her singing, with "All Cried Out", "Where Hides Sleep", "Winter Kills", "Goodbye Seventies", and others. I first discovered it as the B-side to "Love Letters", with a guitar solo instead of that bridge section. This is that version:
  18. I'd be lying if I said anything other than, I want this computer: ...or perhaps just some run time on it.
  19. It's based on a real woman -- Deja Solis. The artist, Marco Cochrane -- a Burning Man devotee, go figure -- has done it before. It's an artistic interpretation of the answer to the question, "What would the world be like if women were safe?" Quite frankly, we need this in the world right now. Right after those disgusting words were posted a while back, shortly after Trump took office, "Your Body, My Choice," by wannabe rapists, we need this in the world. Sometimes, I hate my entire half of the human race.
