  1. I don’t think transes need substantiating.
  2. I like the Foxx-era stuff, as well as the Ultravox albums after those 4, but much prefer his (Foxx) more recent work solo, with Louis Gordon, and with the Maths.
  3. The solution to this is so obvious it’s painful, like watching a Catholic coming to grips with transubstantiation.
  4. Just in case there’s any question: Vienna , Rage in Eden, Quartet, and Lament. Bonus: Monument (live album) and Midge Ure’s first two solo albums. You might find one slow spot (left as an exercise for the listener) until you “get” it.
  5. All four of those albums are perfection.

    Downton Abbey

I’m not sure the series deserves an entire thread, but considering the scathing nature of the commentary I’ll allow it. unrelated:
  7. No, keep the Toole-ed DAC. Those analog stages are gold.
  8. Yeah, not that ambitious. Besides, wouldn’t want to take away from him. That’s like his whole shtick.
  9. Converge, Endless Arrow I’m pretty sure this is their song, “Aimless Arrow”, paulstretched. It’s fairly epic.

  17. Gah! Bah! I was just thinking about Rupert Hine’s solo music. Always enjoyed this particular trio of songs: and this song was ahead of its time (Picture Phone): https://youtu.be/M-H5l1owKJg
  18. “Don’t carers”?
  19. (Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom" intensifies)
  20. Greg Spawton (Big Big Train, prog) posted the setlist they were going to play this tour: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3HVmaI11zjosk5E2umpdf9?si=Mjxlq7VzRO-XlJdGaB-iZQ So I did my best to recreate it on Tidal, and now I'm listening to it: https://tidal.com/browse/playlist/ea3057b4-a28d-4ec8-9636-a45878f1ac9e
  21. Thanks for the pointers. I especially appreciate the comments regarding bombproofness. I actually only have a couple USB-MIDI, most of my devices are from the 90’s.
  22. Hey, like what you like. IIRC you were only using it as a guide on what to watch, no-one obliged you to dislike it after the fact. Cheers.
