I thought it was difficult because the drivers are particularly prone to damage due to inadequate heatsinking during the soldering process. I presume they still sound okay?

Well, rebooting is a little easier -- just hold down the top button for a while (no cradle necessary). Should give you the "slide to confirm" window...circling ellipses for a second or two...and then down. Then hold down the top button for a while again, and it should come up. I presume you tried that. The point was not correcting you, nor ojnihs (well yeah, but not really), but so that anyone else who was following along at home didn't feel like they had to do all that every time they just wanted to reboot. It's wireless, has multiple connectivities, and if there's a network burp in mid protocol, could possibly act like any other machine and hang on that -- that's my theory, anyway.

That's not rebooting, that's resetting. Puts it into maintenance mode.

For 12AX7, try the Sovtek 12AX7LPS and/or the Ei Elite 12AX7EG. I don't do EL34, otherwise I'd give some advice there. Try some of the advice I received here (some of the advice is a bit old, though, as the thread is a couple years old at this point).

I don't own one, but I've looked at a friend's. The electronic paper technology is entirely different to look at than LCD/LED technology -- much less fatiguing. I would love to have access to that kind of technology for some of the papers I read without having to print them out.

I have a friend who spent a good deal of time in Phoenix. He said you could basically point a camera in any direction blind-folded and get a good shot. (I presume you mean nature.) I guess it depends what you like to look at.

Because Sony charges too much to do native DSD? I'm not sure if this applies to DAC chips. Except that it says that the Hyperstream DAC is a 32-bit DAC, which pretty much tells me that they're converting it to PCM. Don't you think? (Not being sarcastic, honest question.)

Exactly. Which is why I left it off of this list. I believe the Sony that's being discussed in the other thread (XA5400S) also does DSD across HDMI. As to whether or not it does "indigenous" DSD, the product sheet doesn't say. It hints at it (that it does), in the block flow diagram, but the fact that it does the jitter reduction and "hyperstream DAC" after that would indicate to me that you are correct. It could be just shorthand (for two different streams handled similarly), and heck, it might even be a more DSD-type DAC than a PCM-type DAC. Unlikely, though. Hard to tell. Will have to do more research. EDIT: Well, no, it also says right in the product sheet that the Hyperstream DAC is a 32 bit DAC, so you're right, it's converting it to PCM. So I agree with your conclusion -- that trying to keep the DSD stream as DSD is an exercise in futility.
