  1. ^^^ I'm Pedobear, and I approve this mashup.
  2. Melted cheddar cheese on top of a fried egg on top of three thick slices of leftover Honeybaked Ham on top of a piece of wheat toast.
  3. Don't you have to be a virgin to successfully handle a unicorn? Perhaps that's the snag here.
  4. Happy Birthday! Enjoy yourself.
  5. South African Chenin can be good, too. Ken Forrester is a reliable producer with good US distribution. Kim Crawford is a good name to look for on bottles from New Zealand. This has already been mentioned, but there's good value in South American reds, particularly Malbec. Try Kaiken Ultra (their cabernet under the same label is also good), Santa Ema's higher-end Amplus bottlings, Catena Alta, La Posta. Most in the $15-$20 range. Clos de los Siete is an excellent Argentinian blend that seems to be quite widely available. Cheers!
  6. Death and taxes. Hangovers. Impotence doesn't sound like much fun. Oh, and Jazz obviously.
  7. Stuffed my old bird. Then prepared a turkey.
  8. Music Direct had it in their latest catalog at a provisional $1,999. They said it was seven flavors of awesome and you should buy it (from them).
  9. Happy Thanksgiving from a more recent English immigrant, though not a puritan.
  10. It's for tenderizing your beef, not firming it up.
  11. Glad I'm not the only one clueless about this particular topic. Guess a possible mitigating factor is my late start -- I graduated from university before Google even existed, in fact without ever accessing the public Internet. That's right whippersnappers, if you needed to know something back then you had to look it up in a book or find an actual human being with the required expertise. Crazy, I know. Erm, in regards to that last point, if any HC members did feel moved to (privately) point this old dog in the direction of locations where our common interests are pursued, I'd certainly be willing to try out some new tricks.
  12. Mint Aero bar. Food of the gods.
  13. If I could afford all those diversions, I think I'd be trying to get through mine slower!
  14. That's a lot of violatin'!
  15. Something something Google something something twat something something. Smiley.
  16. Hooked up the new GS-1 and played lots of music through it. Can now finally give the HF-1s a fair shake. Once I stop listening to the Quads. It sounds grrreat as a preamp. A little custom woodworking, a few new cables and the office system may even feel secure enough to poke its nose into the "post a pic of your rig" thread.
  17. Do you know if Reks has ever touched it? If so, an exorcism is probably your only option.
  18. Just tell him there's a perfectly reasonable medical explanation.
  19. Soon there may be no such thing as actual dollars.
  20. Prose before doze, man.
  21. The kids were apparently practicing for the New England Regional Cookie Tossing Championships all night. Based on their current form, I'd say they are both tipped to finish near the top of their respective weight classes. Ran out of clean PJs and bedsheets by 3 a.m. or so and had to do laundry, so just gave up on shut-eye and put a pot of coffee on. Today will be dedicated to barely keeping it all together and perhaps a deeply-ironic first viewing of the new "Sleeping Beauty" Blu-ray transfer. On the bright side, FedEx reports that my new GS-1 will be here tomorrow.
  22. Just in time for the holidays!
  23. Interesting, if uncorroborated, article about the hardware differences between the latest iPhone and iPod Touch. Apparently the Touch processor runs significantly faster than the iPhone.
