The Headcase Stax thread
The O2 mk1 manual says you can use some kind of gauze on the pads if its causing sweaty problems and it will fix it.

The Headcase Stax thread
Ahh thanks guys. Im slightyl interested in the Mk2 pads, not 100% sure yet though. If it's just a case of leather vs. not leather then not worth it for me, if the sonic differences make it lean more towards my tastes then i'd like to be in the group buy . So i guess I need to hope spritzer provides his opinions

The Headcase Stax thread
How does using mk2 pads on an mk1 affect sound? And how much are they from Japan usually?

The Headcase Stax thread
Heh thanks for the fast reply guys. Yeah its just that im ampless atm. May be worht a try, will it damage the O2? (i know birgir said the O2 can take higher bias, but Im not sure if it will eat away at its life?)

Audeze LCD-1 just landed!
Interestingly enough, the ID1 leaks a lot out of the sides. Since the baffle has practically zero seal with the cup. And its a rather spacious sounding headphone too. Im wondering though how treble the LCD1 is....might have to read back on the impressions again. The Audeze website is semi-up again, man I hope their delay doesnt last too much longer :/

im pretty sure it was dBel taking pictures of that pair, and he had just removed the earpads and took the baffleside photos. Not opened the actual cups (i think they are glued shut)

I think the variance in sound is purely down to the manufacturing process. The tolerances used in the acid etching process Fang uses to create his traces. But much more importantly the tension of the Mylar (dependent on the process he uses to stretch and clamp it), small variances here are almost surely the culprit of these reported sound differences. It's probably not the absolute easiest thing to get right, id bet even with all their automation, headphones from big companies have some variances too.

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
Hopefully Koss can keep afloat...

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
Is the primary reason you are scared it will develop squeal? Apart from that I dont really see a big reason to stop the purchase if the headphone is good enough. Most other companies offer useless warranties, so when you buy used you just have to accept what happens to it in the future anyway.

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
I feel sorry for Koss, who seem to be one of the few last decent honourable companies. Some people in this world just go past my comprehension, this woman is sick in some kind of way, whether it be mentally, or greedily.

memory foam pillows

Indeed I am not sure either, and it is a big assumption on my part. But not a completely unrealistic one based on how these companies work.

How about buying the triple.fi10 and going for one of those remoulding services? That would still be cheaper than most custom's. And I assume the triple.fi10 is the same as the Custom UE.10pro drivers?
