Watches
I don't even notice it (it's not a heavy watch) unless the shirt I'm wearing has a particularly tight cuff.

At my cuff link, like every other watch that I own.

My Suunto is 49.5mm and no longer looks all that huge to me but part of that is that it's all black. I'd certainly never get anything larger and for a dress watch I'd go smaller.

What did you do today?
My understanding is that if your wife works and takes FMLA leave than you would be ineligible. One of you can take it, but not both. Just be aware that FMLA leave is, by default, unpaid leave unless your company/employer has specifically adopted a policy for paid leave. Also, if you or your wife's company has fewer than 50 employees the company is exempt from offering FMLA leave. Google will be your friend on this but as a start you could do some reading here.

What did you do today?
Good luck with that and make sure you do your own research. We almost had to involve a lawyer with my wife's school since the HR person got it wrong, not once, or twice, but three times and finally my wife had to quote the HR manual to her and send her a copy of it.

The Headcase Stax thread
FS: Woo Audio GES - Lower price. - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio That wouldn't be a bad starting point, Jacob, if you could talk him down just a bit lower.

2/27/2010 NorCal Meet
If all goes well over the next night or two I might have something that'll ease a great deal of pain. Or cause significant pain that you won't have it on hand for the meet.

That rig wouldn't give you bragging rights around the office? What are you office mates running that come anywhere near to competing with that?

Should I Get an HD600?
I love how the price is "firm" so you can't even bait him with offers of $100. What an ass.

The Headcase Stax thread
My suggestion, based purely on speculation would be something like SRM-717, 404LE with the source of your choice. Yes, it's not top shelf, but I'm guessing that like me you don't or won't get to really actively listen while working and that there will always be some level of ambient noise that tramples over the finer details.

Assemblage 2.6/2.7 and Icarium rants
NoNoNoNoNoNo's situation has as much to do with other things as it does his purchase and subsequent flipping of the 2.7. It's not like he was banned here or at Head-Fi for one specific reason or a particular action he took.

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
I've always had it happen with checks and felt it was perfectly reasonable to do so since it's not like they should be at risk for the check I just deposited. But with fracken cash, I mean come on. And you'd think they'd see I have 10x the deposit amount in other, linked accounts... I mean, I'm not a rich man by any stretch but I've never cost this bank a dime.

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
For once in a very long while there is actually money going into that account, rather than a continuous stream out of it. I'm as shocked as they are.

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
For a bit of irony I figured I'd post this example of how financial institutions treat different levels of customers. I went to my bank at lunch and deposited a relatively sizable sum of cash, as in a wad of $100 bills. I just logged into my account to check on the status of a paypal xfer and saw that they had only credited my account with $1000 and that the remainder of the deposit was "under review". WTF is there to review about actual currency?!?

Assemblage 2.6/2.7 and Icarium rants
Open it up, I'd guess the truth is in there and not on the panels. Otherwise, if it's a 2.6 I hope you didn't pay for a 2.7.

Not a fan of the dual wire cable, hard to believe it isn't a bit annoying but I'll defer to DOTU's impressions until I get to see them.

Koss ESP/950 electrostat thread
It sounds like Colin's meter should have a high enough impedance to get an accurate measurement but I'm out of my comfort zone speaking about such things. What I'd do is call Koss and try to get someone who knows something on the phone. There isn't magic going on here so it shouldn't take much to get an actual, verifiable answer and if it turns out to be 300V that'll be pretty interesting considering that some have suggested running them over 600V for best results.

Koss fraud. Wow, not good.
I agree Stretch, regardless of card the fact that Amex recognized and either consciously ignored or were convinced to ignore their fiduciary duty is the heart of the matter.
