  1. I find standard, old school wire strippers work just fine. I was just hoping to find a faster way. I'm also guessing that the type of auto=stripper that Marc linked to would work well. I hear you, it can be a bit nerve wracking. And since you're on the east coast have you tried Cam-Expert? I would have thought they'd be cheaper and faster for you.
  2. Just to follow up on this purchase, they work well, given a somewhat limited scope of work. They don't, however, work for shit on anything that has teflon coating.
  3. It is a good one, but I enjoy Dirt more. Ahhh memories of misspent youth.
  4. Ebook prices will and should be market driven, not driven by Amazon's arbitrary pricing structure. I'm just as upset with Amazon over how they are handling this business compared to Apple stepping into the fray and not only providing some much needed competition but letting the distributors set the prices for their own goods. Is the current setup looking like it's worse for consumers with the higher pricing, sure, but I think things will find a natural level on their own better compared to price dictation.
  5. ^^ This - it is simple to remove the entire locking mech, flip the jack 180 degress so the empty recess faces down and you're done.
  6. I'm guessing that Posty had an unfortunate iPhone issue.
  7. Haj, I doubt you'll get much for the used film rig, especially the body. If the lenses are decent and will work on modern bodies you're better served keeping them.
  8. I would not use a stepped attenuator unless you can find one with more than 24 steps. I'd also get rid of the locking 1/4 jack while you're at it.
  9. They'd have to be pretty inefficient to require more than the 50W's the NAD can deliver. I think you'd find the NAD has enough power to do most speakers good justice. But what it means is that for short bursts the NAD can put out over 100W but is only capable of about half that in continuous duty. A lot of manufacturers rate their amp's power output for the short burst type of output to make them sound impressive spec-wise, NAD takes a more conservative approach.
  10. Haj, I'd give serious thought to this - http://www.head-case.org/forums/general-sale/8025-fs-lumix-lx3.html.

  12. Travel safe, don't hurry, if you get tired stop.
  13. Got up with Lily ~6:20 and she was in a mood to snuggle (rare) so we just lazed around on the couch for a half hour or so. Then it was play time until 8 when we went to get mama up and make breakfast. Lily and I made homemade buttermilk waffles with strawberries and blueberries. Now it's time to take a walk and work off the rather heart-unhealthy breakfast.
  14. I think you meant 49 Ken. I haven't heard anything about Hawaiian snow. 49 states dusted with snow; Hawaii's the holdout - Yahoo! News
  15. Happy Birthday Stephen!
  16. * The message you have entered is too short. Please trouble shoot a problem you can't see.

Is it so wrong that I find your comment at the end of each post every bit as entertaining as the pictures?
  18. Dinny, If both parties submitted offers outside the Audiogon "offer system" Audiogon would essentially have had no way of knowing any sort of transacting was going on. I don't often submit offers using the "offer" button, I usually just send the seller a message through audiogon's messaging system.
  19. I doubt you deserved it, it certainly sucks and is a pretty painful lesson.
  20. Please tell me you didn't send a MO to some random guy in Europe???
  21. It sure looks like there are jumpers on the pcb for changing the input voltage but they also look like they are soldered in which may make changing them a bear. I'd probably just get a properly sized stepdown trafo and call it a day.
  22. Glad you made it ok Strech, when's the mini meet? I heard airfare is cheap.
  23. While sad this was hardly unexpected.
  24. I was the same way for a while (but anti-clockwise) but for the first time this morning I just unfocused my eyes a bit and viola, I can see both now. My mind still defaults to anti-clockwise though. You know what's really effed, if I try hard enough I can get her top to spin one way and her bottom the other. That hurts my head.
