Thanks for that link Ethan, they certainly present some interesting options that I'll have to dig through.

Stupid M3 questions which I'm sure have been answered before...
I would not suggest going higher than 24V unless you have headphones that you know are going to need an enormous amount of voltage swing. 24V isn't that far away from the max the 8610 is rated for too (26V) and it's better to have a little safety margin.

Desktop Suggestions
I got the same email from them Peter but thanks for posting. I've got too many balls in the air right now and will have to revisit the desktop at a later date. It's lower on the priority list than others.

Any chance that Al has a bad tube in the amp section that is causing super high start up currents and causing the power supply to act up? I know in the Menace if you hot start it it'll go arcy-sparky in the rectifiers (overdraw).- Old Evanescence Band + American Idol = ???
I've heard the single and had a decidedly luke warm reaction to it. For the curious - The Fallen Debuts First Single "Bury Me Alive" | Vote for the Worst- The I'd Rather Be Happy than Fit thread
I work out so I can eat what I want. I am not an endurance athlete, don't want to be one, but would like to trim down a bit while still not worrying about caloric intake. The only way to do that is to work out a bit so that's what I do. I've had 5% body fat before, I don't see it ever happening again.- GPS Navigation
If you're going to use GPS on the bike I'd recommend not having it mounted anywhere and simply relying on the audible instructions. I don't want anything visually distracting mounted to my bike. I know some people do it, but it doesn't sit well with me.- GPS Navigation
I really like the Magellan 4250 that I got for Christmas this past year. It's cheap (~$125), the stock map has quite a bit of current information, around me at least and the screen is reasonably sized.. It's certainly not snazzy or top of the line and I like its GUI better than the TomTom's that I've seen.- Mac Mini May Have Died Tonight
John, The only good news is that from your description it doesn't sound like a HD failure so at least the content of the drive may be recoverable. I'm in the "take it somewhere" camp.- Another One Bites The Dust: SDS-DOA
Kevin, Could the power supply be fixed easily without the amp section present?- Post the last thing you bought!
Steve, Didn't you send me a pair of bookshelf(ish) speakers you already weren't using?- Top Gear
- Old Evanescence Band + American Idol = ???
The single isn't up on the site but yes, I'll give it a listen for sure. It can't hurt for any longer than it takes me to hit stop.- Another One Bites The Dust: SDS-DOA
I bet Al can help if it means getting his amp looked at.- What are you listening to Part Two
Face down on a dirty floor? If Ms. Case is there count me in, otherwise no thanks.- My very own Beta 22 thread
Gary, The case looks great but you need some ventilation. The beta is not going to last very long if you keep all that heat trapped inside.- Another One Bites The Dust: SDS-DOA
Goddamn that sucks Al.- Ipod Touch / Iphone
Well in a strange twist I actually have a trace of 3g service t the house right now. This is from das iPhone.- Post what you're watching
I think I own it already, I just haven't watched it or looked for it in a long time.- Post what you're watching
I love that movie, brings back fond memories and always makes me want to drink Jack Daniels.- What did you do today?
Took Lily and the wife to go visit Grandpa (and Grandma). Did the final planning with pops for a bookcase for Lily.- Ipod Touch / Iphone
Crikey, my parent's house is an AT&T deadzone as well. Once again, as close as a mile and you get 5 bars of at least Edge service. At least the map is right this time and shows the "no coverage" zone correctly.- Woodworking/building question
Be forewarned that that type of stair outside a door may or may not be code compliant in your area. Otherwise there's probably no need to have anything at 12" o.c., 16" should be plenty close enough to adequately support the plywood. - Another One Bites The Dust: SDS-DOA
