I was seriously considering pouring something at 8:00 am but decided not to risk the hour-long drive to my parents'.
Thanks so much, friends. Love you all and hope you had a great thanksgiving!
Anyone else enjoying Four Roses as much as me? They are easily the most consistent American distillery I've come across. Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace certainly have their moments but Four Roses kills it every time, in my experience. I even find Yellow Label to be the first 80 proofer that's not a watery mess and has some surprising flavor to it.
A few years ago I was down 50 to Brent with only Rodgers going. He dropped 55 and I laughed at Brent for days.
I won't do the same this time... Except to just smile and facepalm at the level of suck that has become the Chicago Bears.
I will truly, truly miss the Foie Gras dog. Wanted to get back one more time but just too many goddamn people. I will reflect fondly on walking straight in with zero wait in line on a Tuesday during February.
So now that they've finally done right for Mike, maybe I should consider these again after 3 years of avoidance. Will be traveling a lot. How durable are the cables on the 13, 16, and Roxanne?
I know Scott and Jeff/Emelius were both pretty dedicated to Untappd at one time or another. I never got into it because I already had a couple hundred reviews on Beer Advocate and didn't feel like making a switch.
For American whiskey, there's never been much choice for a review site. This seems as good a candidate as I've come across and it's a whole lot easier to track short tasting notes than the long ass novels I used to write for beer.
