  1. I wish I could count on being able to do overnight camping anytime soon. I don't think it's in my near future. The Arcteryx Poco we have is very well designed and executed I would guess that their bags are even more so.
  2. Which wheels? Tufo tape is your best friend.
  3. I figured you were channeling lurch
  4. Got out for a good ride with the guys.
  5. Enjoy the show!
  6. I have one of those cheap bases on our memory foam (with cooling gel). Took a while to put together but works great.
  7. I like my ip cameras they email when motion shows up etc.
  8. My condolences to you and your family on your loss. RIP Ronald Schultz.
  9. I still like EAC for ripping but foobar is awesome for content management.
  10. Saturday: Hosted a birthday party for our 3 year old. It went great: the kids had fun, weather was good, the cake tasted awesome and for once I bought pretty much exactly the right amount of food. Sunday: Got up early and ran a rather cold (43F) 5k with my pregnant wife. We had our two kids in the running stroller. I ended up wearing a track suit which worked great at keeping me warm though it did look very silly IMHO. The 3 year old then took part in the kids race and then we all had pancakes provided by the organizers. A lot of fun was had by all. In the afternoon I spend 3 hours trimming the bushes in our back yar for the first time in at least 4 years. It was made a lot easier by the electric trimmer but I have some bush that is a spiny ugly mother which still succeeded in giving me a few scratches. I cut one of two of them out and hopefully it will behave better. The 10ft holly bushes in the front are next on my list. All in all a great weekend.
  11. Sorry that the ride was frustrating but glad you made it out. I know we have talked about this before but your comment about different bikes still surprises me. I never really notice much of an actual speed difference between my various bikes. They all feel different and handle differently but actual achieved speed in almost all conditions is as best I can tell the same. They all have the same geometry and gearing though. I am looking forward to riding together in a few weeks. Anyone want to ride in NoVA next weekend?
  12. yeah we have a 5K in the morning it is going to be f'ing cold
  13. That octal is one sweet looking helmet.
  14. I did, but only a little bit. I like having a retractable tip.
  15. Happy birthday!
  16. Happy birthday!
  17. Yup I would agree but that guy is the director at Prism so I figured it was from the horses mouth. The current king of loopback testing: Lynx Hilo
  18. AB you got me looking around again and I found this: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/1819480-post59.html Not sure where their new stuff sits but you may want to look at the Orpheus.
  19. I thought that too but in the loop back test I believe that it was something down in the -50dB range of being bit perfect. That doesn't sound like any color to me. I am guessing though that it was set with none of their filters on etc. The Dream will be a great DAC and as you say it's only goal is neutrality. I was really wanting one and look forward to hearing whatever you get.
  20. Aardvark I had a plan to get one of those but I would say that you are better off with the new top of the line Lavry or the nicest Metric HALO (and wasting a few channels). Some guys did a musical look back teat and the MH stuff tested best if I remember. Check out gearslutz. Maybe I am wrong.
  21. Wall patch kits work pretty well for that.
  22. I love my Subaru legacy.
  23. Happy birthday!
  24. Congrats!
  25. I did my far less complex DIY yesterday too that I'm pretty happy about: The AC in my car has been acting really weird in that it has been ittermittently failing to cool but if I cycle the power on it then it works. After finishing yesterday's cenctury in 80+ degree weather I was looking forward to AC but it didn't work at all for the whole drive home (I had forgotten how loud having the windows down is at highway speeds). Using the internet I figured out that the compressor clutch wasn't engaging, I tracked it down to a failed AC compressor relay. I went to Autozone because their website said they had the part but it turns out that they didn't but they had a almost identical one which I'm using temporarily until the right part comes in. I saved a lot of money between the lost overtime and the cost at the mechanic.
