Passive volume control
Well damn, that finally looks like a SA with sufficiently small steps. Color me interested, especially since they seem to be asking a fairly reasonable price.

Wow, the BH driving my Lambda Sigs completely transforms them compared to the SRM1/mk2. Actually sound very good now, where they were too bright and bass light previously.

Yeah, the O2 scared the crap out of me the first time I heard the fart. I get a bit on a few of my Lambdas, but nothing like an O2mk1.

What aspects of those look interesting? The hfe seems fairly mediocre and the fT fairly low. Sure, decent dissipation, but nothing that a TO126 cant do.

I used some open cell foam that some resistors I bought from Newark were packed in for my pair. You can just experiment, they open real easy.

If these are the normal bias Lambdas, which seems to be the case, you also really should consider damping the drivers. There is some very open foam you removed, and since you mentioned removing the dust covers, you almost certainly also took out the damping pad. I really did not enjoy my SR-Lambda undamped, but love it with the stock (or approximately) damping material. I guess it is even worse for you, as that dust cover should be providing some additional damping. On another note, I got my first really good listen to my new Lambda Sigs. I have to say, I am not hearing the love. Damn things are too bright for me, in such a way that I would probably put them last right now of all of my electrostatics. Bass is also disappointing.

The Black Halo is worthy if for no other reason than the inclusion of Simone Simmons. I have probably been listening to as much Arch Enemy as anything lately, but playing some Katatonia right now at work.- Darkest Desires
I love Edge of Sanity. Crimson II is my favorite, though I dont listen all that often due to length. As a normal album, I generally favor Purgatory Afterglow, though I love stuff off Spectral Sorrows and Infernal too. For just one fun song, its hard to beat Sacrificed for me. Heck, any Swano project is worthy. Moontower FTW! Also a huge fan of Nightingale.- What did you do today?

Congrats Doug! They didnt even mention kilts as a possibility over here.- What did you do today?
8 hours on the train, but I am now in Quebec city. Pretty cool so far, went wandering the streets and came across several blocks where it was roped off to traffic and people were playing music. Saw a bunny on a leash in the middle of what appeared to be a rave in the middle of old Quebec city.- Another One Bites The Dust: SDS-DOA
Ouch Al, really sorry to hear about this. Dying amps suck.- Post the last thing you bought!
I have never seen or heard a TakeT H2, but from what I have read, it takes significantly more voltage to drive than at least my Pioneers. I havnt listened recently, but seem to recall it being a bit rolled off on both ends, and maybe a bit slow (but my memory of this is quite fuzzy). I do think there are a few ways it could be improved, especially with different pads, but the main reason I bought mine was because it is a cool old phone with a pretty unique driver, and I really wanted an example of a Piezo headphone. I have not tried driving mine off anything but a pretty standard headphone amp.- Post the last thing you bought!
The 700 is round, though the driver isn't quite. Still, it would hurt me a bit to see such a headphone used as a fosterphone, though some of that is going to be the geek in me. Inside, you will find a very unique driver (assuming it is like my 700) consisting simply of what appears to be a very loose piece of plastic metallized on both sides, with a sheet of foam pressing directly on the back to provide tension. The other issue which makes them poor candidates for a fosterphone is that they likely will be quite uncomfortable, as pioneer didn't seem to realize that the ears are not parallel. - Darkest Desires
