That video played probably 40 times over the course of 3 days in the office where I work when it first came out.
  2. I have one just like it, actually wear it a fair bit too. So far, no one has figured out what d-_-b is. Closest guess was ear boobs.
  3. Normal bias SR-Lambda showed up today. Very much midbass heavy, but thats probably due to the missing damping layer. I sure dont remember them sounding like this when I last heard them. I would currently rank my my Stax as SR-404>Lambda Pro>Lambda. ESP/950 is the best of the lot though.

  5. The ER20 have saved my ears at several concerts too. Wouldnt consider going to one without them.
  6. Yeah, I have heard that stuff is very nice, but never tried it for myself. Honestly, I just usually massively overbuy on parts like transistors, so just cut the old ones out and replace them.
  7. Heat all three legs together by flooding them with solder.
  8. So what you are really saying is there are no other easy, off the shelf, ways to get low jitter from SPDIF? If you are willing to do some custom work, there are quite a few other approaches. Various ways of making secondary PLL circuits, slaved transports, or forget SPDIF and use async USB.
  9. Incorrect, plenty of other good options. Mouser now carries this, and some of the other nice Wolfson stuff.
  10. Passed MoCo written test and interview this morning.

  12. Well, Yamas got back with me. $35 for just the cloth strap.
  13. Normal bias SR-Lambda. I just kinda want a new strap, as the plastic on the current one is a bit cracked and the material is showing signs of age. Tracking shows them at my PO, so should be waiting for me when I get home.
  14. Happy Birthday Al!
  15. Happy Birthday Gary!
  16. Kinda what I was thinking, but I dont know what density the stock is or what to get there.
  17. Seems Yamas wants $12 for a pair of replacement mineral wool damping biscuits and $8 for a pair of foam covers for the SR-Lambda. Havnt heard back about a replacement headband strap, but while this doesnt seem completely unreasonable, I would definitely be interested if anyone has a bit more economical source for replacements. The first two I cant imagine are Stax specific items, just cut to size.
  18. Seems that I do, as this stuff is just superb. Maybe my favorite bourbon yet (of a very small sample).
  19. Bottle of Elmer T Lee. Hope its decent.
  20. Yeah, I also am gonna need mineral wool pads for my SR-Lambda too, so hoping there is a good source. They did ship to me today though, so I should have them in hand by the end of the week. Really enjoying my SR-404 in the meantime, much more than I like my Lambda Pro. The Pros definitely dont have the foam behind the pads, and I dont think the Lambdas do either, though those pads are pretty new, so who knows.
  21. I guess it could be different if I cared at all how my school did in basketball. Maybe thinking UBC?
  22. Bunch of prototype PCBs for my discrete I/V. Here is hoping this fixes all the problems on the last run (it should).
  23. Hey, I recognize those!
  24. Socy409 take home midterm. Finished up at ~4:30. Man, so tired today, but this is basically half my grade.
