  1. Here’s Arna. She's around 14 months old and has been in my care around 2 months ago, she’s a real sweetheart.
  2. ^ The only thing thats terminating is the Yggy.
  3. Well that’s some good recommendations, thanks guys.
  4. Has anyone had any experience with these? https://www.vinshineaudio.com/denafrips
  5. Ok I’ll break, apologies I’m so late to the party I’m up for 2 Alpha cases, I’ll update the spreadsheet tonight, if that’s ok.

  7. OK boys steady yourselves.... Oh Yeah! It’s my new toy, I haven't got my grubby hands on it yet, it’s making it’s way from Portugal.
  8. Very nice work bjarnetv. Just to add on to what Craig has correctly pointed out in regards to pin 1, and your query if it’s something that may be audible. In my opinion a correctly implemented (as per rane notes) balanced line is all about “potential”, in other words one scenario may differ greatly from another, influencing environmental factors are all very different. The only way to test whether a certain environment has audible RFI, would be to dissconect pin 1 from the chassis and listen for hum, in a quiet rural country area you may not hear any as opposed to a city area where RFI is obviously greater. And then there’s house hold wiring, appliances and fluorescent lights that all add to that “potential”.
  9. No I backed down... I have a DIY phono stage in the works though, I have one crate of vinyl so I’m not going in with all guns blazing, I’m trying to keep it within a reasonable budget. MM or MC for a poor mans rig? That is the question I’ve been pondering.
  10. Does anybody have thoughts on Denon tables? I have a bid on a excellent condition circa 1984, DP59M.
  11. ... yeah with an ambient temp of -10 . Really nice details and loving the miniature size.
  12. I’m somewhat disappointed in my stamina, I made it to 3.52 and threw in the towel.
  13. Stats aside I think Mr Speakers plannar line-up is competitive and competent with current offerings.
  14. I think Bigir just gave it the nod of approval that it won’t damage phones. You should at some stage correct the values of the said resistors to bring up to proper spec, but I wouldn’t sell the amp based on ~$1.00 worth of parts and very simple fix.
  15. I have built only with the AMB regs with heatsinks, I closely watched temperatures and in comparison to Astro I’m running slightly cooler... and that’s without any heatsinking attached to the transistors. I’m think directly soldering the regs to the board creates a thermal bottleneck.... ymmv
