November 21, 201510 yr WAT. http://www.cbc.ca/m/touch/canada/manitoba/story/1.3328260 I'll have to try this out.
November 21, 201510 yr I was wondering that myself. The last cheap Canadian whisky he recommended was nothing special. This one though... that's an insanely high score. Same as he gave the Oogie if I'm not mistaken. If I can find it I'll file a report, sirs and ma'am.
November 21, 201510 yr My local liquor store has 9 cases. $30 a bottle. If the wife gets home in time I will go get one. Maybe I should send an Uber to pick it up for me.
November 21, 201510 yr Have a bottle on hold for me at a nearby store. Will provide a review in haiku form later tonight.

November 22, 201510 yr It's really good. It doesn't taste like a cheap Canadian whisky. I'd say it's in the same style as Bulleit rye, and probably a bit better. I'll buy it again if the price doesn't skyrocket.

January 20, 201610 yr Author The Yoichi 15 and Yamazaki 18 are great! Good choices. How did you like the Scapa 14? I have a bottle of Scapa 16 and don't find myself reaching for it much.
January 20, 201610 yr More AWESOME news in the world of bourbon... http://www.fredminnick.com/2016/01/20/2198/ If you like Elijah Craig 12 year, better get it now. Latest non age statement casualty, and I must say the absolutely worst one it could happen to. My transition to single malt continues...

Does the 16 have a similar flavor profile to the 14? I know the 14 was only around for a short time. I would guess it's sherried, but I can't find anyone online describing it that way.

January 22, 201610 yr Looking at the prices in Japan, I don't think we should be so quick to blame the hipsters. I think the Japanese are re-importing the stuff Grabbed some low brow stuff

January 22, 201610 yr Nothing low brow about that.tough to get that stuff in the states.. Enjoy! Well, compared to the 250,000¥ price tag on the high-end stuff The bartenders I spoke to said that Yamazaki 18 at $300 US is a good buy, in Japan. So, don't be so quick to blame the hipsters
