No offense but fuck you Doug. I don't need to hear that.

In the Air Tonight (Donkey Kong Country 2 Remix)

Not sure that I like the addition of the aviary background singers.

I definitely don't. IMHO In the Air Tonight is one of those almost perfect songs that won't take much "improvement" other than changing the instrument position and relevance in the mix.

At first I struggled to even hear the difference between the original and the mashup because my volume was set too low.

The track popped up randomly on my YouTube feed. It's more interesting that the composer for the Donkey Kong Country 2 tracks, Lockjaw's Saga and Mining Melancholy, must have been unconsciously influenced by In the Air Tonight and that the mashup artist heard that – gated reverb drum effects were everywhere after that track released:

It will always be one of my favorite drum solos, but as Antonio stated, it's nearly a perfect song. I turn it up every time I hear it.

Me too! The long lead-in and sudden crescendo is iconic.

David Lynch's friend, Chrysta Bell, seems to be channeling David Bowie, Goldfrapp, and Annie Lennox... her new album, Midnight Star, released January 21 (also on cassette and vinyl – why not CD?):

My friends on the Delightfully Depressing chat are all big fans of Future Islands.  You should listen:

You'll notice that the playlist is populated in groups of about an hour, weeks apart, so you should be able to figure out where to stop and start one show, if that makes sense.  The beginning of that playlist is kinda dorked up, so scroll down until you get to playable tracks.

Awesome, love Future Islands.

I always remember a couple of times they were on late night chat shows.... It would be desperately cheezy if the vocalist wasn't so damn committed to it all.

Indistinguishable from Cat Power's covers album. Which is a good thing.

RIP Randy Rhoads

A keyboardist friend posted that to a keyboardist Discord server, saying, "this is why we practice our arpeggios".

I almost responded with, "if any of us are even in the same ballpark as Hiromi, I'll..." (I didn't post, didn't know how to finish that sentence.)

She's easily my favourite living keyboardist, bar none, and not just jazz, but of any genre.

She's my favorite living one as well.

A little retro, a little quirky and a little twinky.

All of my favorite things in a band.
