October 22, 20232 yr I find this valuation tool interesting. I'm all about trends vs data points.... https://www.chrono24.com/chronopulse.htm?utm_source=Chrono24_User_Mailings&utm_campaign=28cfbf39ce-ww-c24pm-ba-reach_2023_kw42_sa_chronopulse_uk-us&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-710f37000d-[LIST_EMAIL_ID] HS
October 25, 20232 yr It’s small, but has plenty of room for an engraving on the back. I think it’s quite lovely. Box and papers makes presentation nice. HAQ movement to boot, which is silly since it has no seconds hand and it’s not like you can read it particularly accurately! Surprisingly weighty. Edited October 25, 20232 yr by EdipisReks1
October 25, 20232 yr Swapped the Slim onto an orange Hermes barenia strap. I think I like it, at least for very casual wear. Hermes sure makes a nice strap.
November 3, 20232 yr Please help my conflicted brain. Is this ugly or not ugly? https://www.stratonwc.com/collections/frontpage/products/straton-cuffbuster-sprint Edited November 4, 20232 yr by blessingx
November 5, 20232 yr Put me in the minority. I like the face of it a lot, the form factor is decidedly odd but considering it costs what some here would comfortably pay for a bracelet/strap I say why not?
November 5, 20232 yr I am of the retro cool opinion. I'd rock it! Not everyone can rock a cool hat and glasses like you. Don't let a decidedly funky watch slow your groove dude!
December 29, 20232 yr I’ve been getting used to wearing a gold watch on the regular (the Chopard being an automatic and all; Santos Dumont isn’t a daily wear watch). It’s a different experience, and I was very wary of dents and scratches. I’ve put plenty of small superficial scratches on the Chopard, but the couple of moderate hits it’s taken have caused no damage (I’m guessing that the crystal actually took the knocks), which is good for confidence.
January 5, 20242 yr Picked up an Apple Watch Ultra 2. I have decided that if I’m going to wear an Apple Watch, which I do 95 percent of the time, that I want it to be an Ultra. Maybe having two Ultras is silly, but I don’t have to worry about charge now (I would swap to my series 7 when the ultra died and then rush to change back). Unlike with my “old” Ultra, I have picked up a generic titanium bracelet, instead of another Sandmarc; options have gotten a lot better than they were a year ago, so I don’t see the point in spending hundreds on a bracelet when you can (hopefully!) spend dozens instead. Also I seem to have lost my Series 7, so I needed a second Apple Watch anyway.
January 6, 20242 yr For those interested, the bracelet from Ultra Supply Co is very nice for the price. It’s an exact match for the Ultra’s finish. It is built well, though has a cheap stamped clasp (it’s sturdy enough). It’s a lot cheaper than the Sandmarc or Nomad bracelets. I have their titanium Milanese mesh coming soon, too. Recommended.
January 6, 20242 yr I really do like the look of the Ultra2 just still can't make it work for my use case.
January 8, 20242 yr I've had mine for a bit now, I like it a lot. Because it's dive rated, I feel a lot better about wearing it kayaking, and the blood oxygen sensor came in handy that week I had covid.
January 12, 20242 yr I didn’t find one, on my search for a 1908, but I found a couple watches I wouldn’t mind going home with. The Louis is most likely, but I think I would honestly buy a Ralph Lauren 867 by Piaget first for half the cash.
February 4, 20242 yr 1 hour ago, HemiSam said: There is something about a Cartier tank... HS Yes there is. Speaking of Cartier… I’m not quite as happy with the engraving on the Credor, but it’s such a tiny watch.
February 6, 20242 yr Love a Tank, I actually bought one recently (Must Solarbeat) "for my partner" and definitely not because I wanted to "borrow" it "occasionally". A couple of other random pics from the collection while I am here. First, the current daily driver. Love it. Been on a bracelet recently though. I'll save the bracelet look for a future post. And then there is my baby. Action shot. And yes, for reference my wrists are SUPER tiny. That Oris is a blessing as a 36mm dive watch. Edited February 6, 20242 yr by revolink24
February 7, 20242 yr That GS is gorgeous. Oatmeal Johnny likes my dad’s watch. Edited February 7, 20242 yr by EdipisReks1
February 19, 20242 yr Monday morning wrist check: Chopard LUC XP in grey gold. A wonderful daily wear watch that I rarely wear. 7.2mm thin. Wears like a dream. Edited February 19, 20242 yr by EdipisReks1
March 24, 20242 yr If anybody was interested in what a 7mm watch looks like on wrist. It feels like wearing a quarter, but it gets a lot thinner than that (my Santos Dumont is just 5.5, and feels absurd): I love it. Thinness is a complication. I’m not happy with this Tiffany lizard strap. I think I want to wear this watch on Horween Shell, but the last time I had a Horween shell strap made I got a rash.
