I was wishing the same, Gene, but 10 of us managed to have a fair bit of good times talking about the rest of you and larger gatherings of the past. Thanks to Peter, the next one has a tentative theme and title:

Hopefully we don't hit the sewer line when we dig the pit for the pig roast.

Went to a barbecue at a friend's house yesterday.  I brought a 72 hour brisket which we reheated and grilled.

 

 

One of my friends made sous vide flat iron steak in pear juice and soy sauce and guacamole.

 

Then we grilled some skirt steak, but it got a bit overdone unfortunately

 

And his girlfriend baked mini cherry pies

 

Not pictured, grilled pork bulgogi, nachos, 4 types of ice cream, Storm Brewing Imperial Flanders Red Ale, Vicaris Tripel Gueuze, The Bruery Rueuze, and Diet Mt. Dew.

 

Then today went out for sushi

Habanero and pepper jack bratwursts. Almost too spicy. Almost.

Me Must masticate moar mahvelus meet

Made foie gras au torchon, on toasted baguette with a plum that I stewed in whisky (Nikka 21), fennel, and sugar.  A few pieces had too much plum, but still super tasty.

 

Something to make a Wednesday afternoon at work more pleasant.

Its a new trend. Food truck whitefish tacos and curly fries.
