Ah - the good old battleship grey Cambridge Audio livery. It was panned by the reviewers, as were the buttons on the CD player (they described them as reminiscent of poking dead flesh). Very unfair, b

Even so, what is the point of placing the amplifiers on top of the furniture? Only by weight and vibration immunity should they be on the ground.

Maybe the other components are full of helium and the power amps are holding them down?

Those don't look like AR front panels to me.  AR kit has its own unique, stodgy look to it.  The units in this photo are very 70s looking.  Probably Japanese, possibly vintage American.
