i assume there's no market for used laptop ram, especially for the standard size that ships with most laptops, so I save it for when I need to take my laptop to the shop, or for testing, etc.

Looking into Airport Extreme and Express recently, I noticed that the express has an optical digital out so you can stream (digital) wirelessly to it. Why in the hell did I not know this before??? :palm: My real question is: how is the quality? Right now I have a Mac mini wired directly to the ECD-1 via optical (used exclusively as a music server) in our office but I would love to put it in the living room and stream wirelessly (so I could connect it to the tv).

aside from the 48khz limit, it's a good solution.

x2. Have one running to a DAC for phones and another plugged into the back of some A5s.

Pity it doesn't have a USB as well, that would be useful.

Thirded. I have mine running through the D/AC 1000 in my speaker rig and it's all good.

Agreed. (well, it does have usb, just not for audio.)

I'm typing this post on my brother's new 13" MBP. There is a LOT to like about this machine. Very nicely done. I just wish it were a bit lighter. And cheaper.

Isn't that your iPad?

iPad != computer

Indeed, but it is lighter, cheaper, and you can type on it!. Don't confuse the monkey with such technical details. They are both shiny and have an apple on the back (and contain a CPU, running software) What more does he need to know :)

I'm typing on my iPad and running SAS with 8 cores and 16 gb of RAM. Works for me :P

I love mine Dinny. It's been everything I want in a home computer.

Ok, so it's Turing complete. Now deploy an app of your own creation on it without the prior approval of Apple. Computer or Appliance?
