blessingx Posted October 5, 2025 Report Posted October 5, 2025 Sorry, I was remote. I would have definitely reached out Al if in person. Hope you and Claire had a good time. Anyone catch Steve Earle? I don’t pretend to be objective there, but was messy fun, especially in the shadow of the Dukes breakup at HSB years ago. Will throw on The Mountain in a few minutes. Will miss tomorrow, unfortunately. Hope everyone enjoys. 2

I will have to check out Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets tomorrow. (2:05 on Swan Stage at Right Coast time, presumably.)

Tomorrow is about clearing my calendar to make sure that - I'm With Her - is my priority. 3
Voltron Posted October 5, 2025 Report Posted October 5, 2025 After the morning jaunt, the plan was to start with Dan Tyminski but I took a nap instead. Claire went and enjoyed it. I arrived at the blanket one minute before Cimafunk started, which was pretty ideal. They are from Cuba but live in New Orleans now apparently. Fun stuff. Made our way to the adjacent stage in time for Tweedy to come out and bore the snot out of everyone. The sun was in his face and his deathly pallor clearly indicated that was not routine. When he finally spoke, he said that he didn't know the sun would be here and "that's not cool, man." Wilco's California Stars was the only song that got the crowd going. At the end of the show he said that it was the first show touring for his new triple album, and thanked us for listening to a lot of new stuff. Definitely the weakest of many Tweedy shows I have seen with Wilco, solo, and with this band with his two sons that he used to call Tweedy. Oh well. 7
mikeymad Posted October 5, 2025 Report Posted October 5, 2025 I'm with her acquired. Everything else if gravy... Oh, and Cimafunk yesterday was a killer set. 4
Voltron Posted October 6, 2025 Report Posted October 6, 2025 One and done, with quesabirria tacos today. I'm With Her was enough and now we're happy to be back in Fairfax before the traffic jam. 5

Voltron Posted October 21, 2025 Report Posted October 21, 2025 On No Kings day, Claire and I made an exception for Kingfish, aka Christone Ingraham. He's an amazing blues guitarist and a great singer to boot. I was very happy to hear some great blues and if the video works for you, it was a blast when he walked out into the audience while playing and ended up two feet from me. IMG_7503.mov 7 2

skullguise Posted November 16, 2025 Report Posted November 16, 2025 Saw Mary Fahl last night, I think the 6th time I've seen her (7th if you count October Project in 1995). Wonderful concert, some of her hits, October Project hits, and covers. The whole second set was her adaptation of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon, pretty stunning. I think this may have been my favorite show of hers. Got to chat with her and her husband after the show, and also met 3 folks with whom I'll keep in contact ongoing; just some amazingly nice people. 8
