Yum Shelly! Still sipping the Old Tom. It's tasty.

I want to say the Vintage was right at $50 with the key and cash discounts...

That is too bad. Seems to always be on sale at the local place here. Perhaps I should pick up a few bottles before they raise they price.

By the way Marc, let me know if you want me to pick something up for you. Don't know if you are in Houston much but it shouldn't be too hard to ship something your way if you cannot pick it up.

IPA Day today: started off with a Ballast Point Big Eye then moved on to CCB Oaked Aged Jai Alai. More of both to come plus some Hopslam later :)

Glad to see you finally got your drink on.. I hope that means that things are better...

Vespers are good.

Silver Sloe Gin Fizz

1 1/2 ounces Sloe gin

3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup

1 egg white

Dash orange bitters

Top with soda water

Mix all ingredients but soda water in shaker tin. Shake with ice until chilled. Strain into a highball glass with four ice cubes (yeah I know it's a Collins) Top with soda water, and garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

Well, I went a bit overboard on that egg I guess. This is a fantastic drink!

21st Amendment Back in Black

I specifically wanted to have this tonight, for no particular reason, and drove to my local store only to find none on the shelves. On a whim I checked the cooler, which has fairly little craft beer, and found a pack that was barely holding together. Yay.

*Anvil*

East India Cocktail

Seems that there are two variations (one with raspberry syrup and one with pineapple gomme/syrup... the Anvil list calls for pineapple gomme). I didn't have any pineapple syrup/gomme so I made one with raspberry syrup and one with pineapple juice (but doubled the amount of juice). Both good but I prefer the one with raspberry syrup - that is just how I roll.

3/2 oz Cerbois VSOP Armagnac

1/4 oz Monin Raspberry syrup (drink 1) or 1/2 oz pineapple juice (drink2)

1 dash Angostura bitters

1/2 tsp Senor Curacao

1/2 tsp Luxardo Maraschino liqueur

This, but with DIY raspberry gomme. This is definitely a texture I like.

Gomme is a PITA to make, and not cheap. I made up some pineapple and raspberry, but next time I will leave this to the pros...

DFH Aprihop

Boulevard Irish Ale...incredibly smooth...not a risk taker...

& moar Stone Old Guardian Belgo...better than O.G. O.G....

I almost picked up a bottle of that tonight, since I haven't had it before.

That is a lot of ..... ummm..... foam.

Note to self: don't get the urge to make homemade gomme.

Yeah, I was playing around with dry shaking (ahem) and extra large eggs (I know) and ended up with a lot of foam.

That acacia gum is insanely sticky.

If you like hoppy, it's worth trying.

Cool, I'll pick one up then; I do like hoppy beer now.

Little Italy and Greenpoint cocktails. I do like the Manhattan variations.

Royal Morning Glory Fizz

2 oz Scotch whisky

1/2 tsp absinthe

juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp powdered sugar

1 egg (whole)

carbonated water

Similar mixing process as the above fizz, but with yolk. Ok, but not great. I love egg flavor but it perhaps needs a stronger scotch?

Metropole

1.5 oz cognac

1.5 oz french vermouth

2 dashes Peychauds

1 dash orange bitters

1 dash cherry bitters

It's good, but perhaps this is a case where Vya is a bit much? Dunno, I like it for what it is!
